Hi,

I have a question. Since we mailed the package with the USPS priority mail the other days before, and since it can not be tracked, I wonder how do I know when we will get the NOA.

I know we should have done it, with the express mail that we can track. But well, if anyone ever used this type of mail, would you share your experience please, e.g. how long it takes, how you know when it arrives, how long for you to get NOA.

Thank you very much.

You could have use "delivery confirmation" and verified online that it was delivered. Since you didn't, your first indication of receipt will probably be that your check was cashed. You did send a personal check instead of a money order, right?

Priority mail is delivered in two days.

Yes we could have done it. :( And yes, it is a personal check. How long does it take for them to cash the check after the mail is recieved? If it is so, my package would have arrived by now, if I could know.

still waiting for the experienced...

Thank you again.

Good for you and congratulation! The thing I am worried about is that I do not have the confirmation for my package. I really hope it works fine like thoes of you who have the success AOS story. Thank you for your comment.

Comments are welcome.

USPS "Priority Mail" is sort of a joke, since they don't guarantee timely delivery. I sent something priority mail and it took 8 days. Use a commercial service if you really want guaranteed delivery times.

Or use usps express mail- they have flat rate envelopes and delivery confirmation and a tracking number are included in the price- and it usually gets there the next day.

Don't worry, it will get there. Personally i'd use fedex in the future for something as important as the original AOS, but USPS works just fine if there is no rush within 10 days of it getting there, but it should be in 2, dont worry! and good luck with your AOS!

It also depends where you live. We live in a Chicago suburb and sent our application via Priority Mail with delivery confirmation (to the Chicago Lockbox).

The package was delivered the next day and we received the NOA in the mail a week after

Years ago, Priority Mail was reliably delivered in no more than two days. Now it can take a week. USCIS can take another ten days to get the contents opened and another week or so to produce the NOA1.
