hello everyone!

I came in the states with K1.We just got married on Saturday.

We want to apply for my AOS and sombody gave me a long list of doc.

I have a lot of questions, but I will post them tomorrow after I read the instructions to fill in the forms.

...For now I wanna ask smth about I-765.Do I need to fill out and send this form to USCIS as long as I already have a SSN,from last year when I worked in the States.I thought that the only thing that I have to do is to call them and let them know that I changed my status...so I changed my name..but my SSN is the same..so I can work...Am I wrong??

And another thing is that in the list of forms that I am aware about there's nothing related to medical examination..and I know that the clinic from my country gave me a list of vaccinations ,besides the blood tests for the visa interview.Do you know what do I have to do with that list of vaccinations?Do I need to send smth to uSCIS?

Thanks a lot in advance !!

DHS is the department that authorizes a person to work NOT SSA, you need EAD, Green-card, or Citizenship to work in the USA.

K-1 is not a work visa, it is a fiancee visa for entry to the USA and marriage, K-1 is "Work Auth" primarily to be able to get the SSN, some states are strict in their interpretation of a federal law that requires persons applying for a "license" to have SSN, this can cause a problem with marriage license if only one person has SSN and the other (the K-1 holder) does not.

File I-765 with the I-485 code it (c )(9 ) based on pending I-485 it costs nothing to get EAD this way.

You need to get vaccinations transfered to an I-693 by a US Civil surgeon for adjustment of status.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

No, you can't work just because you have a SSN. You must either be a citizen or have permission to work via a visa or green card. Since you don't have any of those right now, it would make sense to file for the EAD so you can work until you get your green card.

Thank you so much for your help!

And I understand now that I can work "until I get my green card"just after I mail this form??Or you meant:"You can't work until you get your green card?"

And regarding question 11 ,in form I-765.."have you ever applied for employment authorization from USCIS"...

I have no idea where I applied last year for SSN...my employer helped us to fill some forms for us...I don't remember what were they...and where we applied.I did hat all the other students did.(it was a j1-work&travel visa)..so should I answer yes/no??If I say yes,,what do I need to complete below?

Thanks again!
