Hello All,

Im trying to gauge about how long it normally takes to receive your K-1 visa after your interview providing you received your PINK SLIP ONLY.

My Fiancee has her appointment on January 5th and we were contemplating whether she should stay in a hotel right across from the embassy or go back to Cebu and wait. The goal is... get the visa and fly immediately!!! I have FAITH that the interview will be a success and she will get the pink ONLY slip :innocent: If that is the case, I suggested that she might want to stay there to receive it quicker... She wants to leave soonest too!

As well, has anyone experienced picking their visa up from the USEMB vice getting it delivered? We are just exploring the quickest means of obtaining it.

Thanks for any input!!!

I have my interview May 22, 2008 and got my Visa on Hand June 16, 2008...just less than a month of waiting but it depends because there are some applicant got their Visa 3 days after their interview, but as what i've know in Philippine Embassy they do not allow to pick up the Visa, they will just deliver it through DELBROS.

It's good if she will put her hometown address in Cebu rather than waiting their for to long because we do not know when is the exact date of Visa delivery, but just prayed it will not take to long for them to deliver it.

There is no specific time on how long the visa will be delivered..some will take from two weeks to a month after the interview. Yes she can pick it up at the embassy but still i would advise not to purchase a ticket yet till she gets her visa on hand. Good luck.

Wow! Your thoughts kinda reminded me of my fiance too. :star: He was also asking our immigration lawyer about it. But turns like that there's nothing you can do but wait for the visa packet. Delivery of the visa will depend where your beneficiary lives and if your case was put on administrative review. This might take more time. I did talked to someone who is also from Cebu. She had her interview last week, it took 13 days for her to receive her visa packet.

I'm also from Cebu. I also had the same interview appointment like your fiancee but decided on rescheduling it on the 9th of Jan because I haven't had my medical yet. I just don't wanna be caught up with the holidays nor flying back and forth twice to Manila. Just to save more money. Haha!

Good luck to both of you!

Yes she can pick up her visa BUT SHE NEEDS TO INFORM the consul during the interview that she will pick it up. I picked up mine and so does my son's CRBA last Sept. 2008..coz i already purchased a ticket when they assured me that my son's papers will be ready for pick up at a specific date.

You can see my timeline below to have an idea when she could possibly receive it. I live here in manila so, it was delivered faster than those who live in provinces. It depends on the address. For now, visa issuance takes 1 week but not more than 2 weeks. I think, this is a quicker process now as a result of NO Document Verification. This info is for PINK SLIP holders only.

Eternally destined,

Angel&Saint

I got mine 8 days after the day of my interview. I was from Mindanao and I decided to just wait my visa in Manila. If she wants to wait for it in Manila let her have a family/relatives address for the visa delivery because they don't usually deliver in a hotel. Might as well pick it up if she don't have relatives in Manila.

Good luck to her!

Got mine 8 days after my interview. I had to go back to the embassy to repeat finger scanning. I guess that was the reason why I got my visa after 8 days.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."

In my case I had a problem and they asked me to submit additional doc. and it took 3weeks for me to receive the VISA. But I have this friend that I met during interview and she picked up her VISA 2days after the interview. I think if there's no problem with her docs and interview she could arrange or request with the consul, but of course she must tell him/her the reason why she wanted to do that.

I also recommend that you shouldn't get a flight sched unless the VISA is already in your hand. It's not a wise thing to do.

Goodluck and keep on praying!
