I've checked several VJ members' profiles whose NOA1 received dated are very close to mine (July 25, 2008) and all of them have received NOA2 but I haven't. Neither do I receive RFE. I start feeling nervous now. Should I wait until Jan 25, 2009 (6 months since NOA1) as shown on USCIS Processing Time for CSC site (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=CSC) before calling USCIS Customer Service at (800)-375–5283 to speak to a Customer Services Representative? A quick check by calling that number is answered by a system voice "...The information you just heard is the most up to date information we have about your case. Our customer services representatives don't have any information that is more current."

Thanks.

Peter, I said the same thing EVERY day for last month, then I saw dates like mine coming thru and I knew I was close. Forget about calling anyone, they haven't a clue and will only depress you further.

You cannot judge CSV with VSC. In my last attempt to look at this, there is 1-2 weeks difference in times lately

Check Igors list and watch the CSC stats like I watched VSC and it will give you closer ideas. maybe you are already doing this??

let me just encourage you ... you are still better off than where i was. i believe i am one of the very, very few who really waited soooooo long. we filed our petition in feb. 4, got our NOA2 the day after, got our first TOUCH in september, received 3 RFE's, and was finally approved on nov. 26. can you beat that? hahaha. i tell ya ... i have cried buckets of tears over this. i just found it so unfair. but then, looking back, this waiting time and not even knowing when it is going to come, has strengthened my "grip" on God and my relationship with my husband. the more frustrating part about my own waiting is that my husband and i have been waiting to be together for the longest time. we met in 2005 and i planned to visit him in the US in 2006 but my tourist visa was denied. he finally came back here in 2007 and we were married (though not legally coz we filed for k-1). we thought we would be together as early as july ... but then we had to wait longer. it was really exhausting. but as i've said, despite the difficulties, our LOVE for each other and FAITH in God were strengthened. so ... it's all good!

i pray that you will receive your approval soon. it won't be long now. take heart.

and yes, calling USCIS won't really do any good coz they will just tell you to check their site or wait for further notice. you can ask the assistance of your congressman. we did that. it didn't help expedite our papers but at least we found out what was going on. it is more difficult if you are in a black hole.

God bless you.

Please update your timeline with your NOA 2 date!!

to the OP:

Don't start worrying too much yet. I have been waiting now for much longer than most of the people that filed around the same date, yet there are 3-4 here on vj that still wait with me for the same period of time. There is no way you can predict how long it takes for your petition to see light in the USCIS tunnel. Yes it is true that in majority VSC and CSC process the same dates at the same time but this is not always the case. Just imagine an officer getting sick two weeks or being on vacation for some time...this screws up the general order. Plus security checks and 'red flags' or 'hits' that have to be resolved might also delay the process some weeks. Unless you are 35 days out of the current processing time(6 months vor CSC and March 7 for VSC) there is NOTHING you can do to speed up this process. YOu can contact your congressman but I assure you he will get the answer from USCIS that your are within their processing timeframe. Same for the call center agents and second level support staff. You could only go to an infopass appointment to find out where in the process you are. But what if the tell you, your case has not even been assigned yet?? Could mean again you get assigned tomorrow or in 6 months. Maybe they tell you you are assigned and it gives you peace of mind. But again, no guarantee that you will be approved within a month. In the worst case, the infopass reveals that you are stuck in security but then you can only start planning on a longer wait. Because for some people this takes 3 or more months...

I don't want to scare you, but try not to worry. A lot of people gte approved between 150 and 200 days too.

guys, I'm gonna tell you something, and I'm gonna say that until u get sick of me!

Waiting for an approval is not that hard, stop worrying, stop whining, and start paying atention to the everyday life (your family, jobs, hobbies etc.) Your approval is gonna come in the right time, if u worry, u are gonna be a burden for everybody, maybe you don't realize, but people feel your stress, and the ones who love you suffer with you. It happened to me once, when i was worried, and i tried to whine, and my future husband said "Stop it, I don't wanna hear about this matter until we get the approval! You are of no help, not to me, not to anybody else, with this attitude!"

It was exactly what I needed to hear, to get my senses back!

Please, guys, it is obvious that you will get it, and you will be together. So enjoy the time left in your home country, with your family, your friends, co-workers, etc (some of these people maybe you will never get to see again).

True but very hard to be able to do!!!

When we filed in June most people got approved within 3-4 months so we thought having 9 months between filing and wedding is a great timeframe. Now we wait already much longer than anticipated and if I worry then mainly about our wedding and my job! Until now we will be ok, but you know, I would just like to know how much longer. Because if they would tell me: you are in AP, youn will get your NOA 2 not until end of 2009 (hypothetically), we would make other plans. I would get another job immediately and wouldn't already start shipping my stuff over to the US because I will still need it. ;-)

No honestly, waiting 6 months is ok but everything else is just ridiculous because I cannot (and I am sure lots of others too) live in limbo like that. I mean what about your job? If I would take another better job I cannot just leave. The laws in germany are such that you sometimes need to quit your job as early as 3-6 months in advance to be able to leave eventually. So having plans amnd schedules is just necessary. Sure time with friends and family is great. But what if your friends are all over the world? Mine are and I don't see them any more often if I am here or there. And my family appreciate time together but we also appreciate being apart from each other since I need my own life. Right now I am living with them to save money and work for them to get money to make the move to the US.

So situations vary, yes you are right, waiting itself isn't that bad. I am just ready to leave and my life is set up to leave in the next 10 weeks.

My NOA 1 date was May 23. My 6 month period has come and gone. Contacting the USCIS will only add to your headaches. They told me they are only working on cases prior to March 7. Do I believe that? No, but you can't do anything but wait.

It is true that worrying when we are going to get our NA02 only adds to the frustration.

I DONT read posts that read YAY we got our approval!! or Visa in hand, that stuff. Even though I'm happy for these people it makes me feel even more frustrated!

I have now (kinda) come to terms that we are probably stuck in security checks as I can't think of any reason why our case is taking so long. (we're waiting for the results of a service request)

We've also emailed 2 senators about our case.

I've accepted we're 'stuck' & decided to get on with being in the UK as normal with the view of maybe going over to the US in summer next year.

Now I think if the approval comes through sooner than next summer then great..that'll be a bonus...we'll see.

We all know that we will get our approvals at some point.

I feel for Sara who is THE most unlucky VJ member I've read about so far.

Keep smilin!
