Hello all of you! We are new to this site I am Fariha and my hubby is Zain. We are at our 4 1/2 month mark in our visa journey. We filed for the K3 visa petition and we are at Vermont Service Center. I would like to make some companions here to help me cope with the stress of being in a long and drawn out visa journey. I have heard horror stories on my other immigration forum about Vermont Service Center. Hope if you are past 4 1/2 months mark you can share your experiences and if you are at the same stage we can compare notes. Hope to talk to you all soon! :star: Edited by Maple-Donutz

Hi Fariha,

I don't come to the forum very often anymore because my husband

is now here with me in the US.

I can tell you Sweetie it took me 3 years to get my husband's visa to the US.

It was literally a nightmare for both of us being separated for so long.

I fought with every breath I had with Immigration. It wasn't so bad dealing

with the officials here in the US, but it was absolutely horrible dealing with

the Embassy in Asia.

They denied his Visa the first time. I then retained a very good immigration

attorney here in downtown Chicago. She worked very hard on our case for

3 years, and the embassy in Asia never had the decency to respond to her

requests.

I finally went to my state respresentative. Once I contacted her office and

she heard our story ... they went to work and after the embassy in Asia.

I am proud to tell you ... she got my husband here one month later.

Please do this Fariha.... go to your local representative, it has to be on

the Federal Level.

This is the only hope you will ever have of getting your loved one with you.

Please feel free to contact me if I can answer anymore questions for you.

Blessings & Good Luck to you.

OMG! Three years????????? Are you serious? I can't wait that long. Why will it take that long? What kind of visa did you all file for? When can I get the federal assistance? I mean is there a time limit? I would say I got to waiit 4 more months right? Do you mean after I get approved here at VSC then contact them or before? This is total derangement.

Wow....I really do not want to wait 3 years. I already am on the beginning of year 2. I really messed up in the beginning of my visa process because I did not know how to file the papers and was misguided. I really need to know how to speed things up because time is getting away and my husband is not in good health and niether am I.

Salaam Fariha,

Welcome to VJ.. I myself am also new to the forum, and it has been what keeping me sane somewhat after months of being in the dark and just waiting (to no end). I've never visit or join any other forum before this, but I guess I learn quite a bit from just this one. A community with ups and downs, shared experiences as well as differing opinions. But definitely at every turn theres a wealth of information to derive from. Your journey may be smooth, or it can be long drawn out like how some of fellow VJers testified, but I wish you and your loved one all the best, and be patient... Take care of yourself and of each other.. (F)
