Wow, this waiting is enough to drive anyone mad :bonk: I know my waiting time just seems long to me, and it has only been 1 year, 2 months, 3 days, and 10 hours since I last saw my baby in the New Delhi airport. So I was wondering what was the longest time anyone has waited before their fiance stepped on American soil?

I left India in August 2005 and my honey arrived in USA May 2007. So we did not see each other for at least 1 year, 9 months. It was hard but after he arrived, all the pain of waiting disappeared in an instant! :star:

I'm SO sorry they are unfairly picking on you! :crying: Best wishes for a FAST approval and reunion! :thumbs:

We waited 17 months to be together and now have a different kind of separation for a year. This process does test your patience. The key is to think positive about your future and talk a lot to your SO. Before you know it, it will all be over. This waiting won't even matter once you are together. All the best! :thumbs:

We were very lucky... but also went through Nepal, not India.

2nd visit ended 3-17-05 (we tried unsuccessfully to do DCF during this visit)

I-129F filed 6-18-05

US arrival 10-21-05

total separation time: just over 7 months (before that, we were separated from Oct '04, when we met, to March '05... another 6 months)

Our visa journey could've been even shorter. We lost time waiting for packet 3, which got lost in Kathmandu. We lost time waiting for a police certificate from Arunachal Pradesh, India, that we probably didn't need. We lost time trying to get my (now) husband's visa application to look presentable (I finally typed it up here and sent it over to him... which reminds me: we lost time when DHL lost my first package and I had to resend via Fedex). But we are NOT complaining about any of it... overall, we were very fortunate! I'm just saying that if we had filed immediately on my return from my second visit, and if we had not had the unnecessary delays, our separation could've been as short as 3 months or less! IOW, none of our delays were caused by either USCIS or the State Dept, both of which were VERY quick and efficient.

So there is hope, at least...

Best wishes on a speedy journey for you...

Maya

I am in kinda a different situation.. but doesnt mean I have not waited just as long if not longer..

I met Janak Feb 20 04.. Last visit I made July 05. .. Due to personal issues,, we have not filed K1.

We are on count down for a trip soon for him to Canada.. but he wont do that till he has his B1/B2 for USA.. he will have the interview after the holidays..

I think being a bit older.. and realizing we only have time.. we wait.. knowing what is best for all. that is including his children.. a son that has aged out..

So for us.. we have been waiting... Feb is our 5 year mark... .. I have learned to stop getting upset seeing others who have filed and gotten together with their loved ones.. .. I am thrilled for everyone.. and know. one day .. My Love and I will be together.. .. No one needs to understand our situation.. thus why I rarely talk about it..

We are waiting and in love just as those that have had the opportunity to file... our road is just a bit bumpier than most.. .. but that usually is the case when children.. and x's are involved...

Hugs to all... .. just remember.. one day you will look back at this time and chuckle... .. this journey is just a small stepping stone of many in your journey with your loved one..

Love isn't love unless it is expressed;

caring isn't caring unless the other person knows;

sharing isn't sharing unless the other person is included
