OMG are you KIDDING? Come on...if you've got connections...us them! It's not line cutting for christ sake...it's just the way of the world.

Line Cutting? Really....come on.

Devilette - you go girl :) I knew a US Rep but she passed away. Had I had a difficult situation I would have called her every day I needed to. If you don't take advantage of the stuff you have like that you'll never get anywhere...

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

When our case was outside VCS processing times-I was on the phone with my congressman's office straight away. Some people think it is a good idea-some think it is a bad one. It set my mind at ease so I am glad I callled. I didn't know him personally(although if he had got my man here sooner-I would have been glad to-bad joke  ) but seriously people-if you can get someone to help-go for it

:crying: Stop crying.

That's just the way life goes...

people with connections CAN USE THEM.

Don't like it? Go network and make your own.

Sheesh.

If you were applying for a job and your dad was on the board of directors wouldn't you use that connetion? If it meant a HUGE raise?

I mean connections are a part of life.

Instead of being mad at people with connections...be mad at the process.

Why is it soo easy for certain countries? Be mad at me...why is AUstralia DCF so simple? Why can some do DCF regardless of residency? Why do ME fiances get put on AR for ages...

It's the PROCESS that's nto fair...not people using connections.

I have a retired Immigration Officer helping me prepare my paper work.

I also have connections in the government and else where to help Chris get a job when he gets here.

I know not quite the same but I still am using these people as much as I possibly can! I will be giving them flowers when we finish...*laugh*

Hey good luck.

I think that you will still have a wait.

But maybe your connection can help you!

I used a connection to get Stewart a great job within a few weeks of his getting here...

and I don't regret it for a second...especially when those paychecks roll in.

 I agree........

I don't believe that anyone here would not take up the chance to speed things along if given the opportunity, just because they think they shouldn't jump a totally imaginary queue

Like Karo said....the PROCESS is unfair......

we will have an officer from London Embassy come to the airbase and personally check over our application and take it back with him...are we going to refuse this service?.....ummm, nahhhhh

People would get NOWHERE without connections-it is a fact of life! A girl I know has the best job at the Irish Imigration Center in Boston-I asked how she got that job.................her Dad did the electrical work. I am a bit jealous but hey she used her connections & got a great job!

Lesson: If you got connections-use them

I hate this whole process and what it does to you... but who would not use contacts if one had them??? Sure there are times when it hurts to see people who started the process leap-frog ahead... but such is life... I have been waiting almost since kingdom come and for no fault of ours... papers sent to the wrong place... do I begrudge those who have got their visas and are already together with their lover??? Nope... use your contacts if you have them... most people would not have been so open about the matter... good luck in your journey.

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT
