Hi everybody,

im reading in this Forum since over an year now, i love the openess and the kindness of the people. Everybody is helpful only with writing down there personell experience in the whole immigration process.

My case is quiet difficult, and thats why i have trouble to find all the answers to my questions, but maybe somebody here can relate to my situation and help me out with some advise.

Im a turkish citizen with a permanent citizenship in germany (meaning im born and raised in germany, but posses a turkish passport). I enterred the states with a tourist visa in august 2006. After 3months i flew to the bahamas with my (fiance, at this time) and when we back enterred the states i got my stay extened for six months. The officers at the bahamian airport simply stamped in my passport. I also left the states during that time to get back to germany for 14days in november 2006. In july 2007 we married in san diego california. We started the AOS process. well till here everything is quiet normal. Unfortunately i left the states in november 2007 again, and this was the biggest mistake in the whole process. Even just a few moths after marriage we already had bad fights and i had till that time suffered 2miscarriages i was emotionally exhausted and i left without thinking twice. As if it wasnt already a complicated case -I also have a criminal record in germany with two listings....shoplifting. Plus when i applied for the tourist visa i did not answered with yes when they asked for criminal history. Well, very embarrasing now., but unfortunately i cant change the hands of time.

Now im since November 2007 back in Germany, and my husband comes every three moths to visit me. Our immigrant attorney in san diego, forwarded my papers to NVC (4weeks ago)and now im waiting for my interview date. I also have to expect that a waiver interview will be neccessary. So i will have to face two interviews. Im so scared that they deny me. On top of everything im pregnant again :-) I really hope i can go back to the states as soon as possible.

Is anybody out there who can tell me what to expect?

Thanks in advance to everybody who took their time to read my post.

Utilityman1: as everyone said you have to wait until they request something or change your status.

Meanwhile it doesn't hurt to gather evidence that could prove what you said:

If you went on honeymoon somewhere, rented a house, anything like that could help.

For example, if you went on honeymoon you hopefully have pictures, receipts from where you stayed, etc.

If you rented a place: have your landlord do an affidavit that you were both living there as a married couple from date X-Y

Have family do an affidavit of support stating what they know of your relationship.

Old phone bills with both names,

Letters with envelops in both names received back then

Copy of anything that would have your names at the same address (even if your names are on different documents)

Etc.

Insurance (if you share it), anything you've done together in the past that would have a written trace.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

07.06.07: Civil Wedding

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

11.08.08: Big family wedding

09.18.09-10.03.09: First trip to France with Hubby

I-751

04.19.10: Package sent to Vermont

04.21.10: Delivered in Vermont

04.22.10: NOA date

04.23.10: Check cashed

05.17.10: Received biometrics appointment letter

06.07.10: Biometrics Appointment

06.26.10: Touched

07.07.10: Card Production Ordered!

07.17.10: Card in the mail :) Done until citizenship

Cecy,

The affidavit from the landlord is a great idea. Unfortunately, no phone bills as we both have company phones. Thanks for the advice, or shall I say, merci beaucoup et j'apprecie votre support.

We had the AOS interview in LA on the 9th, he took my I-94 as well...I didn't have a clue as to what was going on either until I got an email from CRIS saying "Card Production Ordered"...he didn't lead us to believe in any way that it would be approved either...he just said that he needed a couple days to look over all the documents & I didn't have much, not even bills in both names, for proof of bonafide marriage...don't worry YET...just hang in there, all the worrying isn't gonna get anywhere...good luck!!

About them taking the I-94... I have yet to read a story from someone who's I-94 did not get taken out his passport after the interview..

You should see it like this: You need your I-94 in your passport for as long as you are in the US on a visa, as soon as you do not use your visa, you are either illegal, a legal resident (conditional or permanent) or a US citizen.. and, well, you cannot be a citizen yet and I highly doubt they will let you stay in the US illegally.. for me this can only mean that you got approved and soon will receive your green card.

Also, from all stories I read (and I read quite a lot), from everyone that didn't got his green card, they were told so at the end of the interview.

So yeah, I do think you should not worry and that you will see a change on the USCIS website soon, saying the card production is ordered ;)

Wow, that's great info, very encouraging but a little worrisome nonetheless considering that now that he took my I-94, I have nothing to prove legal status besides the EAD (which clearly isn't a card that prove legal status).
