Yes there have been several posts about this lately perhaps the fact that USCIS was closed NOV 27, and 28 has had an effect on processing.

You are AOS Pending NOT N/A http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01

My lawyer sent in the AOS application on the 18th of nov, havent received anything yet.I called the bank and the checks have still not been cashed. Is anyone in this situation as well? I'm really frustrated about this situation.:(

Lately it is not uncommon for checks to go 'uncashed' and NOA's to be delayed - it doesn't seem to delay processing however. I would advise to assume the best.

The NOA would go to your lawyer, not you. The Thanksgiving holiday (a four-day weekend for govt employees) has led to a backlog in everything. Anyway, the USCIS will not contact you if there is any problem...only your lawyer.

(a four-day weekend for govt employees)

I wonder about that.. my application has been received on the Sunday after thanksgiving.. kind of weird if you ask me.. then again, the I-129F's back then were also being approved on weekends and during odd-hours... I kinda feel like they're working whenever they want :S

I really didn't like my lawyer and was thinking about getting rid of him.

He told me I would receive the NOA, but I am not sure, as he is a confusing man.

How can I know that? Should I call them, give my address, and make sure it will be delivered to me? (NOA1)

you should receive an extra copy the NOA too. they will send it to both your lawyer and youself. Speaking of lawyers, i had a really bad experience with mine. IMO, a lot of them are so irresponsible and for case as small as getting the visa or AOS, you are only a small fish for them and they are not as effective as they would handle the big cases. Thank you, good to know I will also get a NOA.

I felt as if I would maybe be better by myself... The guy filled some items wrongly, was rude... oh my.

Maybe I will get rid of him now and go to the interview in some months without him.
