We recieved a RFE which we completed and sent back about 2 weeks before this action... Just want to know if this is a good sign, bad one, or completly normal one... also does the CSC matter since we live in NY? I thought there were jurisdictional lines for service center according to place of filing?

Perfectly normal...maans you might be approved without an interview, hence no need to be sent to local office...

July 23.......Check Cashed

July 28.......Received Biometrics appointment
Aug 12.....received RFE notice

Aug 13...Biometrics Appointment

August 19...RFE received, case resumed processing
Oct. 8.........EAD Card production ordered

Oct. 16.......EAD Approval noticed mailed
Oct. 18........EAD in hand (came in mail)
Nov 3.........Interview Notice received in mail
Dec 4.........Interview APPROVED, CRIS email: card production ordered
Dec 9.........Welcome noticed received in mail Dec 9.........card production ordered
Dec 14.......Received greencard in mail

CITIZENSHIP (2014):
May 7...Application mailed out

This means that NBC decided that the case may be approved without an interview and sent it to the CSC processing center. This does not mean approval without is guaranteed, the adjudicator at CSC may decide an interview is required and send it back to your field office for an interview.

K-Visas have this happen often due to the lengthy and thorough Immigrations visa process done bu USCIS/NVC/Consulate, K-Visa has immigrations intent, and are interviewed as an immigrant at the consulate, so in many cases USCIS decides not to interview again.

Really! They do that (USCIS)? I guess I will wait to see the letter this week and see what it says... but thats good news... I assumed it would be sent to NYC and an interview would be scheduled.
