4) ####### were the doctors thinking??? Sometimes you need to say no.

I was also wondering what doctors let this go through... and second, how loaded must have this 70yr old lady been to afford that... and be living in India. Unless this was some experiment, to see how old the oldest IVF is.

I would imagine the parents are rich. In a country like India, you aren't going to get this kind of treatment unless you are - the rich do whatever they want world over but it's not likely there will be an epidemic of indian women having children in their 70's. Personally, it's none of my business what this family do or don't do although I would rather people were educated into understanding that one can have a very fulfilling life without children but there is a lot of stigma involved even today for childless people which is a bad thing.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Sadly true, especially in some parts of the world like S. Asia. One time a gay rights activist in Nepal was interviewed by the NY Times and he said he was approached often by people who were asking him why promote sex which does not lead to children....

PLUS, you get to help out a child who doesn't have a home AND not bring yet another child into an already over-populated world. I just can't get my head around the desire for a biological child that much.

Basically, it all boils down to "my DNA is better than yours".

If the child doesn't have your genetic makeup, there's no reason to have one at all.

Or she just found the most unethical fertility doctor in India.

She may have! I heard of people going to India to get lypo & facelifts cause they only cost like $350.

Relatively speaking $350 is a huge amount of money. Many people in India work for less than $1 per day. Infertility treatment is notoriously expensive - the parents had to be rich by Indian standards.
