That day she came home shouting "Give me Liberty or give me Death." I knew we'd argue over some stuff, but at least I'd always have someone to help me reload.

She's planning on hitting the Appleseed trail with me this year (appleseedinfo.org) so hopefully I'll not only have someone to help me reload, but someone to help me shoot! That's one great thing about pro-2A folks. I may not always agree with everything you're talking about, but at least I know at your core, you're an upstanding individual and we can work the rest out later. Now, if you're an Appleseed type individual, I know you not only "talk the talk" but you "walk the walk."

My wife is pro-2A... even to the point now where she's like, "govt. not will be take our guns." YEAH! Take that Rahm!

We haven't gotten that far yet.

I'll probably be buying her an M-4 variant with an ACOG or HWS on top. She shot my Ruger 10/22 once and complained of it being "heavy" so I'm pretty sure the AK is out of the question.

But, since you guys voted for our buddy, M-4 variants with ACOGs on top have become prohibitively expensive. For now, she'll just have to man the "heavy" 10/22!

Natasha tells me it is considered improper to give a watch as a gift, particularly to someone you care about, as this indicates a separation is impending. Of course, you don't whistle inside a home or this invites financial ruin. I've also been told that fashion (particularly for women) trumps all, so no how uncomfortable those tall spiky heeled shoes are you walk as though on clouds and then soak your feet in the privacy of your home. Not really a superstition, I suppose, but there you have it.

That explains why my whistling show tunes during my birthday party with Viktoria's family drew so many horrified looks I thought I was just off key, but then I thought "how would they know if All That Jazz was off key or not?". Seriously, no show tunes, but I did whistle while walking up the stairs and got some strange looks.

My mother always used to say "company is coming" if we dropped a spoon, knife or fork and she isn't Russian.

Lets see...how about sitting on cold things (benches, etc) drinking cold things, opening windows for a breeze, flowers must be given in odd numbers not even, and all the bad things that will hapen to you if you go outside with your hair wet, get your feet wet, etc.

I got a package the other day and my wife brought it to the door for me. She backed up right when I went to grab it, forcing me to step out. I was like, "what are you doing?" She giggled and said, "Russian style. You must..." And I said, "Oh yeah, that's right."

The crazy thing was that it was automatic and I don't know if she even realized she was doing it. I know I sure didn't until after we acknowledged what we had just done. But, so far so good. No big fights. So, it must work!

well, i whistled in the house today. i got "don't do it. it means...no money." guess i forgot about this thread. also, his mother said we have to marry when the moon is waxing for luck in marriage.

on a side note, he brought me some f*d up belorussian flu. his remedies include the regular gargling of salt water and drinking warm lemon water. in addition, he made me wrap a vodka-soaked towel around my neck to ease muscle soreness. i look like an accident victim. this is fun.
