Hey there!

First off... where are we living now.. is a studio... that belongs to one of my friends... no credit check on my wife's side or anything that has to do with checking ssn!

I have a question... If i decide I wanna move ( my studio lease ends on jan) and try to get an apt:

1.- If they ask for my ssn (dont have one) what other options do I have

2.- My wife has bad credit..

If I def need to move.. and even tho.. my wife can pay the deposit.. plus the rent... what options do I have for them to allow me to live on the apt..

rules here in san diego are so ####### as far as housing..

they stopped renting people without ssn...

I might have to move

any ideas?

In my experience, the landlord just accept to wait for me to get my SSN. I gave him the day I received it. No problem.

I don't understand why you don't have an SSN yet though? You're supposed to get one like 2 weeks after your arrival in the US, no?

Good luck with that!

Hmmm... i can't speak for San Diego Carmie & Aldo, but i know around here, if you've got bad credit, you can still rent a place, but you may just have to pay a larger deposit, or pay 4 or 5 months advance... Not ideal, but if your wife has an ssn and yours is pending... it might be an option. Also, maybe try Craig's List or find a temporary sublet that could be extended into a longer lease.

Good luck,

I started to wonder every time I've read Craig's List? What is this all about? Seems very interesting....

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
