The way she describes this is that back in her early HS days she didn't feel attracted to short men but also accepted that she used to be too insecure, and kind of felt that she needed somebody that could "take care of her," a tall guy seemed strong and protective, therefore she was attracted to them.

Years later she became a really confident person who didn't need a man to survive and therefore she was able to see beyond height to find love.

Well, if the source says it then never mind my personal observations when living and traveling there. Duh.

Then that means all my family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, and friends of friends and the friends of my cousins' friends and their friends, etc. are way above average.

But in general, what is bs about it? On average, most men ARE taller than most women because women have selected for that trait. It isn't an accident.

Testosterone and growth hormone yield more height than estrogen and growth hormone, but I like your evolutionary approach there- even though more in line with the OP... the selection favors taller males.

My brother was severely handicapped and had to have growth hormone injections to grow...once he reached 4'10" he was getting too big for people to carry him (he couldn't walk) so they stopped giving him the injections. He never got any taller.

If it were possible, a regimen of regular exercise impacting skeletal muscle could have helped in the teen years. Growth hormone has less effects on our musculoskeletal structure once males hit the early 20s.

One profile is 5"6" the other profile is 6'.

I also like tall (my husband has about 8 inches on me, and I'm pretty tall). Can't say I ever dated someone shorter than me.
