Any idea on how long it takes to get approval after they resume processing?

I think you will see an NOA2 very soon desi! Maybe next week.. (nothing valid to base this on btw) lol

for real though, it seems like rfe's hear something within very short period.

good luck, maybe you will be the next to leave our "We love VSC" group ;)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Jen, I was told the same thing too, by my immigration lawyer (6 months). Actually, I was told it could happen as quickly as 4. HA!!

Where your spouse lives has little to do with the speed of processing. Go look at the USCIS posted processing times for the Vermont Service Center for K-3's and I=130's. They are at 8 and 9 months. There are numerous people on this website at this point in time. Again, I think it is great you stay positive, but you have very little chance, based on the VSC trends, of being approved any time before mid to late spring. I'm just trying to help you not get a false sense of hope. Look at the timelines of other who have posted on this thread. See how many of them have timelines longer than you. And see how their spouses are from everywhere in the world.

Long waits do not come from where your spouse is, long waits come from the unfortunate position of being stuck at the Vermont Service Center.

Jen, hi. I understand you've been apart for a year, but from looking at your timeline, it appears that your case has only been in the system about 5 and half months. Am I reading that correctly? Because, we've got people in here whose cases have been "in the system" for 8, 9, and almost 10 months. I happen to be one of those people.

Not trying to be a downer, but you've probably got a bit more of a wait on your hands.

Thanks for the update Monica!

Yeah, I told my husband that I think we'll hear something from them in February, if they don't end up doing name checks or something like that. My birthday and our legal marriage anniversary is in February (same day, awww... LOL), so that would be a great gift!

I just know VSC is gonna give me the best gift for my birthday EVER! Cause I love them so much! How can they not love me back??? ;)

My one year anniversary was November 30th. I was in Costa RIca with my husband. I was hoping I had some good news to tell him when I was there with him.... but NOTHING !!! The waiting is killing us. I am assuming the approvals will slow down this month due to the holiday since everyone is taking vacation time to be with thier families. What about our families??? We are all separated from our spouses because we are waiting on them !!! This is so frustrating !!!!!

:crying: I was told by the immigration attorney that in his recent experience, approvals takes about 6 months. He is a decent lawyer. I think it depends on the country of the beneficiary. He told me he is working with a family from the Middle East and they have been waiting for to be approved for almost 2 years. He said they just keep asking for additional information from this poor guy. He told me it is a good sign that they haven't asked us for anything more.

I am trying to stay positive.

In a nutshell, lawyers are freakin liars. They are also ignorant of everything going on at VSC. The other day I emailed my lawyer and told him the K-3 was a waste of time and made things take longer, because stand alone I-130's were transferred over to CSC and approved faster...whereas ours are stuck collecting dust at VSC. He emailed back and said, "The K-3 actually make the whole process faster...you get approved for K-3 before I-130"...I wish there were more people on our spreadsheet, I would have faxed it to him. Dumb a$$...and get this, he also emailed me and said, "We checked with the customer service center and you're within normal processing times".... If I could have jumped into the computer and strangled him through the screen, I would have... I mean, what a f-ing idiot!!!! Hello! 7 years of college education, yes, I can read!

When I first started, one lawyer told me 4-8 months, with 6 as the average for the K-3. When 4 months hit, I was jumping off the walls, thinking we'd get something...then 5 months...then I joined VJ...then I realized it wasn't gonna happen for a long, long, time!

Well, here we are at 8 months and nothing yet! Although I must say, the first lawyer told me start to finish would probably take a year and a half.
