Sorry, I thought this was my last resort to get the attention of the mods...

I've been asking the mods to delete this thread, so nobody uses outdated information.

We've updated everything in the WIKI, and it has even more information.

The thread has been closed, but some people still post links to it.

Thanks for your assistance.

lol i don't know if it worked or not...... :P

It got someone's attention....but not enough to actually do something to help insure that

VJers have accurate information...just to do enough to flex their muscles I guess :unsure:

Most mods at least leave a message of accountability.

Your editorial comments were unnecessary by the way.

Thanks William. But I won't apologize for my editorial comments.

I'm very passionate and concerned about the primary purpose of VJ,

and it pisses me off when moderators make time to address trivial issues,

but ignore issues critical to family based immigration.

Again, thanks for stepping in and stepping up.

Not to take a position one way or the other, but it's worth noting that the mods are volunteers. I don't think it's their intention to "address trivial issues, but ignore [critical] issues." I do believe they have the best interests of VJ in mind, and although sometimes it does take time and effort, eventually the right thing almost always happens. My guess is that non-trivial matters take longer because there are discussions behind the scenes to make sure everyone is on board with a certain decision. Which is a good thing IMO.

The mods are not responsible for people reading and acting upon out dated material....each and everyone of us is responsible for our own visajourney...VJ should be used as tool only and any information should always be doubled checked by the individual for it's accuracy.

Whatever.

I've volunteered for things too, and I'd happily volunteer to be a moderator on VJ.

While everyone is personally responsible for their own journey...if you volunteer to moderate something,

it shouldn't take adding Shpat's name to a thread in order to get some action on something I've requested

3 times before.

It's not like it's the first time I asked for the thread to be deleted.

Volunteers have a responsibility too....or maybe that's just a silly notion of mine.

Just as not all police are perfect, and not all people are perfect, NOT all VJ moderators are perfect.

There are some, like William, that do a GREAT job. There are others that do not.

i don't think it's about adding shpat's name to a thread that gets things done - it's more like putting the post in the proper forum for it to get attention. and while even doing that is good, pm'ing a mod often works wonders too. they really are (usually) a friendly bunch.

charles, are you speaking in your capacity as soon-to-be-appointed-moderator or as a regular vj civilian?

Hey I'm all about doing what works. If pm's don't work, I definitely encourage guerrilla tactics. But c'mon man, once the situation has been resolved--especially since it was resolved in your favor--then have some class and make with the stop slinging the mud.

C'mon man, how am I slinging mud? I believe I noted that there are some mods on here that are great...and there are others that leave a lot to be desired.

That's the reality of the world. I haven't named any names, THAT would be slinging mud

Other than you, I'm just responding to the same people who usually disagree with my off-topic posts 99% of the time (coincidence?).

And it wasn't resolved in "my favor"....I'm done with my visa journey,

it was resolved in favor of those who come after me. Get it straight, I don't gain anything by this, there is no personal gain, and there is no "in my favor".

I do this in hopes that I can make a small difference so others don't have to go through the same visa hell that all of us have.
