I have noticed that some out of country police certificates are acceptable delivered by the beneficiary while others must be requested by the consulate and cannot be submitted by the beneficiary. I cannot locate the answer to my question on travel.gov or the embassy web site. Does anyone know why or if it only applies to specific countries? And where I might find this information?

In my case the Netherlands, London will not accept it, even though we could get it within a couple of days as opposed to their 3 weeks or longer.

I was prompted to look for information by another members post, as they will accept from his country.

Thanks for the reply!

Found that when congressional aide couldn't answer my how much longer question 2 weeks ago - as for my case, the Netherlands takes up to 15 days to respond unless of course they find something in the records, like someone with the same name who is, oh lets say in the Dutch Mafia and then it will take longer to clarify who is exactly who.

But I cannot find the statue that states specifically why the beneficiary cannot produce this certificate, when it is perfectly acceptable for him to provide the UK certificate (same country, I know) and why it is acceptable for the beneficiary to provide a certificate from , lets say India for example purposes while the beneficiary is a resident of the UK.

I will bug my lawyer about this on Monday, and probably the Senators office again - but thought someone here may know the answer.
