I was wondering if anyone else has seen the following. When I first checked my status online in the beginning and as late as 1.5 weeks ago, it said that this type of case was taking between 150- 999 days to process.... When I checked today, it said the following:

"Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was received on February 13, 2006. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

Notice how it says nothing about the 150- 999 days anymore. Does this actually mean something or am I reading too much into this, speacially since my "Last Updated" date has not changed?

Just wondering and becoming slightly impatient.

This is now across the board with all petitions whether they be for fiance or spouse...... There is no meaning to it other then what it says...to check processing dates as an estimate of when the petition should be approved. And remember, the processing dates are just that, estimates. Many things factor into why a petition has not been approved on or around that date.

All the best

ASRS,

It means that the USCIS has finally decided to stop providing useless and misleading information, and instead tell you how to make a somewhat better estimate that you can update as time goes on.

Be aware that the processing date means that processing has begun, not completed. When the processing date passes your Receipt Date wait 30 more days before you start to worry.

This new line "You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates" can be seen in all petitions (I-130, I-129F) now. It is better than this previous funny sentence for I-130 "It is taking between 990-999 days for us to process this kind of case."

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
