First of all I would like to clarify the following:

Being of Pakistani origin does NOT mean one is of middle-eastern descent.

Pakistan is NOT in the middle-east.

Pakistan is in South Asia.

South Asia is NOT the middle-east.

So first of all, please get this fact correct. Pakistanis have a right to be known correctly just as other nationalities have the same right as well.

Second of all:

There are many countries besides Pakistan that are considered "high fraud" by the US. And since this is an immigration forum and we are trying to help each other out, I see NO REASON to bring up something so irrelevant as anything to do with current politics involving Pakistan.

And the reasons for Pakistan being on the list for "high fraud" also has nothing to do with supporting any type of group, it has to do with visa fraud, immigration fraud, hence more security/background checks, not to mention that even having a Pakistani/Muslim sounding name can put one on AP/AR.

So please, can we keep to the topic and get our facts straight.

Thank you,

-MARM

Marm - Sorry for lumping a 'condition' (ie Adminstrative Processing) into a geographical category. I guess our phraseology does have to do with politics. Which unfortunately, I think, does have to do with the condition (AP) as much as a high rate of fraud. World politics and matters of security do play a part in visa issuance.

What I have disagreed with in this thread is the taking of a persons country of origin and making that persons error in judgment out to be a bigger issue than it would be for a native UK'er. Maybe that is because I don't consider it to be a 'lie' to send in the checklist stating you have all your documents when you don't. I might consider it to be poor judgment or a risky move, but not a lie. I get the impression that the real issue here is that the missing certificate is from Pakistan, and that bothers me.

So what say you about this? Is this gentleman at more risk for a denial because he is from Pakistan, and doesn't have a certificate from that country? Will his arrival at the consular doors without it be taken as he is trying to get away with something?

I think it simply means the CO will crank at him in the same manner he would a white boy from Liverpool about being ill-prepared, and will tell him that the visa can't be issued until he produces the document.

I agree with you completely. This gentleman is of no more at risk of denial as any other person of any other nationality including a British citizen who is not fully prepared with the documents. The main point is that anyone who is ill-prepared will be scrutinized in the same manner by the CO, because its about the preparation, and I am sure he is not the only one that has the problem of getting police certificates from his native country. The CO's will crank him in the same manner as they would any other person.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

How this turned into a theoretical debate, I'll never understand!

In this case "never" would only be because you don't try. If you want to understand, spend a few minutes reading here.

It's not about a rogue Consulate. It's about US National security and Pakistani male visa applicants. They are not treated materially differently in London.

This turned into a theoretical debate because some people just have to be right, even it means they are just being ugly instead.

I fail to see the purpose in using scare tactics to make someone feel BAD about something they've worked so hard on - ie obtaining a visa to be with the person they love. It's one thing to explain the process and advise what to expect. It's quite another to rub someone's nationality in their face and then further take an honest mistake and try to wring into a nail in a non-existent coffin.

I'm sorry Mike but you've overstepped this time. I call bull$hit on this one. Big time.

Back atcha. The OP's nationality is why he should be prepared to be treated differently than a UK Citizen. Shall we just bury our heads in the sand? You can but it doesn't work for me. We'll know what actually happens soon enough. At least, I'm not going anywhere.

Perhaps you misunderstand me.

The gent asked a muddled, but relatively simple question and it seemed to me to become an overblown debate on lies and the consequences (or possible consequences) of what you considered to be an outright lie. The debate that raged between you and Toma1 on this very thread is what I will never understand. And I really don't want to. The tone of both your posts was heated to say the least.

I am VERY well aware of the issues of National Security. Having recently been blessed with my Marine Son returning home from a sandbox considered "An Issue of National Security" I find myself very well educated regarding our government and it's policies regarding the Middle East, thank you.

As to your reference to the listed thread, maybe you should re-read it yourself.

Or better yet, may I suggest a piece written in 1927 by Max Ehrmann, perhaps you have heard of it? "Desiderata". May it calm your soul. I would be happy to post it for you.

Did I debate somewhere? Maybe I forgot and I didn't review the thread... but I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

I just told him what I would do if I were in his place at this point in time.

And thanks! :)

I'm not nearly as concerned about being nice as I am helping people set the right expectations. You don't want to read what I would call the three pages of debate. Priorities vary.

God help u guyz out! i wouldn't know that my simple question would made me feel dumb about why i asked in here! someone referred this side to ask any immi typo question, but i feel like my post is being so confussing as it shouldn't be! first of all i am one simple god fearing guy and i have my complete faith on god! second the reason why i asked this question so that i could be guided in a right way so that i could convinced the CO, Right at this forum i have now read so many stories ppl just brought up in here as their experiences for others! i am not the noly one going into the interview with the lack of one document. On top of that! if i am gettin' the visa then no matter what CO will be happy to stick in my passport, when i finish producing the original one.!

God Bless You
