Does anyone have advice for calling the embassy- the website says not to call... so what number have people used and how do you get the info? I'm just thinking ahead and hoping we'll be scheduled in February for March.

Well, your case is still at NVC (I think you are CR-1?) so the embassy wont know anything about your case till they get it...which is AFTER you get an interview date..

Now I'm super confused. We are CR-1, but I had lots of contact with NVC because there were some crazy things happening with our case. After it was approved, they told me it had been sent to the embassy and they wouldn't be able to answer any other questions... is that not right? Shrewd, I thought you had called to get your interview time before you got the letter? Agh! Just when I think I understand it all! haha.

If you are CR-1 The NVC schedules your interview based on the amount of appointments that Kingston (the embassy) sends them. If you are K1 they send your file as soon as they are finished with it and kingston schedules you. SO - if you are CR-1 they should have your file until you have been given an interview date. The only reason they should have sent your file is if you already have an interview date..unless you had an expedite ..but even then you would have known.

SO- call NVC again and when they ask what you want say "Have I been scheduled an interview date"

what was wrong with your case? tht might change the answer to this question...but I dont think so

YOu can always email the embassy too. they will just say they dont have it if they dont have it

Wow! Just checked this thread after months. Didnt realize there were so many CR1's with interview....woo hoo!! Yall had some long waits!!

Good luck to IW all all the futures interviewees. Trust me the interview is a piece of cake. If anything, its our nerves that make it so difficult. not the interview itself.

Quick question... Do I have to go to the interview w/ my hubby or can he go alone?? By reading some threads... I've seen that both parties attend the interview but don't know if it was mandatory.

I have been trying to catch up on everyone's information... but I'm limited to computer use only at work unfortunately.

you do not have to be at the interview most of vj members couldn't make it and their hubby still got approved. now for k1 or k3 they usually request the presence of the fiance. my hubby came down for my interview and they ask me if he was with me. they looked at his passport and saw the numerous times he visited me in jam. that sealed it for me.i got approved. good luck i can't wait to hear your good news

Thank you!! And thank goodness that I don't have to be there, although I would love to be, but bcuz of work, I can't. AND I haven't seen my baby since last June... I'm DYING!!!!

You can believe I'm counting down the days... His interview is the same day when the TV's convert...so my TV always reminds me of how many days are left, LOL....

Good luck, MrsB - Just make sure your hubby is very prepared for his interview - Read through past experiences, make sure he knows the answers to questions, etc....
