Shrewdie sorry to hear that, you'll get the SSN soon I just know it.
I just recvd my appointment letter yesterday via email, I am glad because I heard so many other VJers say they took forever to send it out and our So's need it for the medical

Our appointment is 7:00 am I wonder is that the 1st appointment?

How do you get set-up to receive the appt. letter through email? I thought they would just contact my SO. Do they get your email from the original information you sent in or do you need to resend it to someone?

Philly, 7am is the first appointment, McKoy was through in an hour and a half! He got hsi visa last week, so we are just waiting now!

Shrewd, what happened with the SSN? We requested that it be sent as well, but it may just be easier to go to the Social Security Administration. Did they give you a number?

I added my email address to the 3032 form, they also had my email from any inquiries I mailed to them. My girlfriend who was pending her interview date from Columbia also recvd hers via email last week. My SO has yet to recv anything in the mail and the medical is tomorrow. I would just contact them to make sure the have yours on file.

Hi Melissa thanks for the info we will be the bright and early, the embassy is close to our house so that's a plus!

You mentioned before that they stopped using DHL, however other Vjers mentioned they went through DHL. Can you confirm what happened in your case. thanks

hey! I just saw this. Nope, no number. Friday was three weeks that he arrived, so we are going to the SSN Admin tomorrow. Hopefully he is already in the system and can just give us a print out

Philly: DHL still works... unless you live in the boonies like my husband does. They wouldn't mail to his house because he has no official street address. So, he had to go back and pick it up. If you're close to the embassy, I think you'll be fine.

Shrewd: Please let me know how the SSN thing goes. If I'd have thought it through, I would have not requested the SSN as it is easier to do through the Social Security Administration in your home town (I know this from working with international stduents). Please let me know if you are able to get it!

ok. SS update

M. went yesterday to the SS office because we still (almost 4 weeks since arrival) had not received ssn in the mail. We did get a welcome letter and the permenant resident card

When he went yesterday he was NOT in the system..so he had to apply and they said we should receive the card in the mail in 2 weeks

my advice: wait about a week to 10 days and if you dont get the SS card..go.

I wish we had gone last week

It took about 3 weeks to get the PR card

I dont THINK they needed to see that..but I am not sure.. I will find out
