THIS MOVIE IS ABOUT ALGERIAN SOLDIERS BUT THERE WERE VERY MANY THAT FOUGHT FROM MOROCCO

THEY WERE LIED TO ABOUT BECOMING FREE AND THEIR PENSIONS STOLEN AND FROZEN AND THEIR FAMILIES BACK HOME NEVER RECEIVED A THING FROM THE FRENCH

THE FATE OF MOROCCANS WAS A LITTLE BETTER BUT IT WASNT UNTIL 2007 that ANY ALGERIANS RECEIVED A PENNY. ...LONG AFTER MANY OF THEIR FAMILIES AND WIVES WERE DEAD

we saw this movie at the african film festival last year, it's great.

my husband's grandfather (on his mum's side) served.

The moroccans seemed to come out a little cleaner when it came to pensions because of the good relationship Morocco maintained with everyone. Algeria did not fare so well. Their revolution basically threw all of these soldiers into limbo. Such a sad sad sad story all around for these young guys
