I'm just wondering if the American Consulate requires letters of intent to marry, among other things, to be presented at the fiancee's interview. The VJ guide says that new letters must be submitted, although they have been submitted before with the I-129F petition, but the packet and instructions from the Consulate are mum on this matter. Are these letters of intent to marry just mere unsolicited information used by some applicants to facilitate the issuance of their visas?

To my Filipino friends who have undergone through the interview process and were granted their K-1 visas, did you submit such letters of intent to marry during your interview? Maraming salamat po!

Since it's been a considerable time from original submission it's a good idea to do an updated one right before your interview.

Being notarized isn't required tho I'd do so if it wasn't a big problem.

Some people get away without submitting some things. Depends on the COs. I submitted the strongest evidence I could think of thruout the process and came out OK.

Since it's been a considerable time from original submission it's a good idea to do an updated one right before your interview.

So, you are implying that this is an unsolicited information and not required by the Consulate in any manner, way or form? And it's only a product of an applicant's imagination so that the issuance of her visa be facilitated, isn't it?

the prescreener and the CO did not asked for the letter of intent.

Possibly, it depends on the prescreener and CO.

I only submitted those items required in the packet, letter of intent is not specifically stated in the packet.

But, just prepare it in case it would be asked.

Better be ready than sorry. :innocent:

It's probably more important, to get the I-134 properly notarized, and supported. From my obsevations, that seems to be why most K-1 visa go to AR, or get outright denied, if everything else is in order.

Hokey Smoke!
