Does everyone get background checks or is just for people who request expedite? I assume everyone gets it but it doesnt take six months!!!

I am right to assume then that requesting expedite can even delay more my application?

p.s I really hope that you dont have to wait 6 months sad_angel

some countries and names make back ground checks seem to take for ever.........others are pretty fast.........ours has been forever

but is it the same background checks that everybody has to go through or is it some other kind of background checks? so this means i will wait 6 more months to get an answer or they mean the the standard 6 months time frame to process the whole case?

We expidited our case

OUr NOA1 for 129 was on October 6, 2008

and our NOA1 for I130 was on September 25, 2008

And we got approved last November 26, 2008.......yehey :D:P:D

But until now we did not know if our EXPIDITE REQUEST was appoved or not.

The USCIS did not send us an approval notice for our REQUEST...But I guess it works for US....hhehehe

Good Luck

Several middle easterners get thrown into the black hole with extra background and name checks. It's as simple as that. They estimate 6 months...it takes some people one month and I have seen others take more than 1 year. You're at their mercy. All you can do is maybe ask a congressman on your behalf, to help speed things up.
