so not only your wrinkles and saggy body will say you're old, but your hair also? I don't thijnk it's tacky. Tacky is everybody reaching a certain age having to have the same short haircut, like they're announcing my days of being pretty are over so I might as well cut my hair to finish the job.

One thousand percent AGREE! Cutting your hair because it's "age appropriate" is a shame if you are only doing it because you think that's what you SHOULD do.

I have had my hair short and long. It's whatever works for each person. It's not just one way that it has to be. It annoys me though when I hear women saying their boyfriends or husbands won't let them cut their hair or would be really mad about it. It's your own hair, not his. That's my opinion. When I first started talking to Sujeet online, my hair was choppy and chin length, pretty short for me. Then it grew. And actually he said he likes my hair short the best. Right now it's shoulder length and I am letting it grow a little longer again. I didn't like it really short on me. I can't have really long hair in Florida though, no way! Some people need to chop off their long hair, and some people need to grow out their short hair. If it's been the same way for over 10 years, I say change it up a little. :P

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

wow great news for me. my hair is down past my butt...i must really be sexy then.

Only allowed until you are 55. Then you MUST fit the cookie cutter mold that Danno laid out for us. My time is ticking too!

Well said, thank you.

Perfect examples Sister, I was thinking the same thing as I was reading. specifically Jane Seymour. These are some hot women! I can't see any man kicking her out of bed for eating cookies. Why should any of these women cut their hair because they have reached a specific age. God people can be so judgemental and dense. I think I will continue to do what makes me happy, not what makes others happy. What a concept!

I find that odd too. Yes it's nice when your husband loves your hair, but my feeling is that he doesn't marry the hair, he marries the woman. Women who feel that way should ask themselves, if my husband went bald, would I love him less? I'm pretty sure hubster prefers my hair on the longer side, but so do I. I've had it in a shoulder-length bob and he didn't recoil in horro because it was shorter. Also, he's seen my hair in colors from light brown with blonde highlights to deep, deep chestnut and he's liked all of that too. Hmmm, maybe he just loves ME! LOL

Don't forget Sam Elliot - well over 40, wears long hair, and looks nothing like a woman.

I can see this point, but I think going bald is a little different since it's not really something you can control.

I probably would not be too happy if my husband decided he wanted to grow his hair out long. Ultimately, yes, it's his decision, but I do think a spouse is entitled to an opinion on the haircut.

I have really long hair. Love it. Love it. Love it. But I am sure it will come a time when I am just tired of taking care of it and it will be shortened. I remember my mom cut her braids when she had babies (no time for hair-care). That, and I do not want to look like Willie Nelson in female form. :jest:

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

An opinion, yes, but to you aren't saying he can't do it. That's what Stina was saying...there ARE women who say they can't get their hair cut because it's not what their husbands want. Well, if she wants to cut it, she should be able to get her hair cut for chrissake.

And yeah, I know the bald thing is a bit different, but it's still about image, the physical traits. So what do people marry, the physical trait or the person? What is ultimately more important?

And as for long grey hair NOT like Sam Elliot... ....

Oh yes, of course. Actually, I'm somewhat unclear on what disallowing a haircut would entail. Don't get your haircut or else what? Or else I will forcibly put a wig on your head? Or else I will divorce you?

Of course movie stars with professional stylists (and facelifts) ..etc look great, but in GENERAL when I see a 50 year old woman with flowing gray or ultra-dyed hair, I think TACKY.

There is no law, but as we age I believe it's best to go for classy and sophisticated, rather than sex kitten.

Again, just my opinion.

"We are the real countries,

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."
