Our K3 got to NVC on March 6th and was stuck in AP on March 10th. It was just sent to embassy today :star: Which means we were in AP for 34 days total.

This is bitter sweet news to us since we had decided to follow CR1 but today found out our CR1 is also stuck in AP  Stupid AP  Anyways, my hubby and I will follow whichever one gets us reunited faster cz we are so freakin' tired of this separation and nerve-wrecking wait!!! So we shall see where that leads us...We are now hoping to secure a May interview for K3 and be able to flip to CR1. I still beleive things happen for a reason. NVC closed the May interviews yesterday so maybe this happened in our favor seeing as how we can still get a May interview and possibly flip our K3 to a CR1 interview ...Still keeping the faith :innocent:

For those of u still stuck in AP, I wish u lots of luck :star::star::star::star: and hope u too are out soon. I know how frustrating it is when ur hands are tied.

Poor you GS4EVER I hope you will be patient with both 2 in AP (K3 and CR 1). If you buy lottery, you will get the big prize  Come here, you have lots friends

I was just coming on to tell of a dear friend who found out her CR1 is stuck, but here you are. :luv:

It's not only K visas now guys!!! Poor GS had to be the example :(

Yeah Lis, Not surprising considering being married to a Muslim male from the Middle East. It is bound to happen. Still would rather go through AP pre-interview than post :star: Keeping it positive! After all it might all work out in our favor and CR1 can catch up with K3 and we can still flip. Since they already did the calling and checking around on hubby I assume CR1 won't be stuck in AP as long as K3 was and hopefully will get to LEB. in time to do the flip.

Well, I always thought it was so strange that they pulled our 129f for AP yet we got the AOS fee bill. I was thinking about it and I would venture to say that if I had followed the CR1 path, we would find out the 130 is in AP as well.

Which also leads me to believe that there may be quite a bit of document verification, just like I was told by one CSR at NVC while waiting. It doesnt make sense that they would send off a name twice for background checks. I would imagine that they do that once and then verify all the docs.

But then again that makes logical sense, so I might be way off base. We are talking about a gov bureaucracy after all.

Anyway, I hope it does turn out to be a blessing in diguise and you can flip your interview :)

Ron [uSCANDUAL], I read your post and can imagine the difficulties and challenges that life has presented you and your loved ones.

You'll be in our prayers for relief, peace, joy and happiness to all of your family.

With sweet emotions, I would like to say that my call to NVC last night was the one we were anxiously waiting for!!!

I then called my fiancee and told her the good news, and spent a great deal of time planning our future and talking about our life together starting a family as we have been talking for many hours everyday since the first day that we met. (now that I recall  ).

With respect I would like to express my gratitudes to all for your kind support and sharing,

especially Joe and Nadya, and Ron [uSCANDUAL] for sharing your fine programming skills with our AP family.

Let's all pray for quick relief for all who are anxiously waiting to be with thier loved ones.

I would like to say that although I'm not religious, it really helps to pray and meditate ( in any order ).

WOW what do you know!!! I guess we got lucky because our file was sent to Montreal yesterday!!! So they released us within the limits of time, 10-15 business days, that the told us. And as a bonus, they corrected their error and sent our file to Montreal!!:dance::dance:

I'm so happy....although my stay here was fairly short and quiet, it's been a great help and support. Hope they'll be many more releases this week! :energy:

WoW!!! Is this an amazing day on the AP @ NVC thread , or what??

I don't think we've EVER seen so much good news in such a short period of time.

I check the thread mid-afternoon at the office, and got home tonight and checked around 10PM.

During that time we had 4 releases from AP, and one wedding announcement!!!

And it's only Wed ----- there are still 2 more days left in the week for good things to happen (e.g. -- hint, hint -- maybe BKK embassy will FINALLY give us an interview date??)

CONGRATULATIONS on release from AP@NVC:

Just on a side note who on here (non-USC) feels that, when we call NVC and they see that we are the beneficiaries, they treat us like they are doing us a favour by even speaking to us?? LOL The few times I called they made me feel like all I wanted was to enter the US and "abuse the system"....so frustrating. I just hate to be treated like nothing cause I'm trying to immigrate in thier country. Especially because I would've loved to stay in Canada and for us the raise our children here, but circumstances decided otherwise. Anyway, just wanted to vent out ONE of MANY frustrations with NVC!

Ruby, hang onto that 'u'!!! Or try to anyway :). Like you, I grew up with favour, colour, neighbour, and an alphabet that ends in 'zed'. Now it's favor, color, neighbor and 'zee'.

Also, you know what still feels a bit weird? You buy an item that costs less than $1, and hand over a $5 bill. Your change comes back in 4 single $1 bills and change, rather than two toonies and change. Counting out all those pieces of paper (four singles) still feels foreign to me.

As to staying in Canada and raising a family there, I hear you on that.

Every time I go back (I was in Toronto just a few weeks ago at a family wedding), I shake my head and wonder why on earth I'm not there and bringing my fiancee to Canada instead of getting embroiled with USCIS. You could do much, much worse in this life than living in Canada.

A few updates regarding the "Stuck at NVC" statistics website:

1. Given the rush of new AP releases, perhaps we're rapidly getting to the point where we can shut this down and don't need it any longer! I wish that's true, however something tells me that they're still queuing up new AP cases just as they're freeing old ones.

2. I gave up once and for all on the old hosting service I was using, nxserve.net. They had one advantage: they were FREE. I learned something from this experience: you get what you pay for! Free web hosting is like free beer ... a myth  So, I shelled out the grand sum of $14 for a 2 month hosting package on godaddy.com. And another $1.19 for our very own domain apnvc.info. This should be much more stable and reliable. The new URL is now simply: http://apnvc.info . This is also updated in my VJ signature, so it can be accessed from my postings directly.

3. I've moved over the script from the old site to the new one. I had to make some adjustments (most notably godaddy doesn't have all the CPAN packages I relied upon, in particular the Error package which gives 'try' exception handling (use Error qw(:try)). It seems to be working ok without that, but it may blow up on certain date conversions that the exceptions were previously trapping. Like, people who enter illegal dates such as Nov 31. Before the exception handling would safely process these. Now I think the script will just abort and ####### out if it encounters a date like that. So I'll monitor that.. if it starts happening, I'll need to manually do my own exception handling. (Ok, that's technobabble I know, but I got on a roll there...)

4. I can't get the cron job to fire :(. I spent a fair bit of time on it, but I'm giving up for tonight. I'll contact their help desk tomorrow and ask them why it's not working. The cron job is intended to run the script every hour, to refresh the files from the VJ database. Since it's not working that means the website will just sit there stale and static. It is currently showing server time of Wed Apr 15 22:24:48 2009 PDT, which was when I last ran the script manually. It will stay that way unless the script is run manually again, or I get the cron job to start firing hourly. (By the way, if anybody wants to run the script manually to force a data refresh, just PM me and I can give you simple instructions to force a run of the script. It's really easy to do.)

5. I decided to rename it. Before I referred to it as "aka Ron's list". I realize that this was quite selfish. To be more altruistic I'd like to name it in honor of my patient and long-suffering honey - Thantita. Ergo - Thantita's List is born

6. What else? The 'By country' stats is still a work in progress. I hope to get around to that on the weekend, now that it's finally hosted in a proper home. Also 'by month' stats, which I think will be useful to see if we start to get a reduction in the length of time cases are spending in AP @ NVC, down from the 50 range to hopefully more like the 30-40 range, or even lower.

7. As always - any comments or suggestions are welcome. Either about additional information you'd like to see, or not want to see (e.g. I'm thinking of dumping the 'Leftovers' page, and I haven't decided if I like the Comments being displayed or not), or just cosmetic things like the color scheme, font size, etc.

Ron,

Thantita's list rocks. And very humble of you to name it in honour of your sweetie! (I threw the 'u' in there just for you :) ). The new server seems much more stable...I was never able to look at your latest handiwork on the old one...always down when I tried. I'm sure with a fresh new look this weekend, you can get that cron job to fire.

Personally, I would lose the comments field. They are great for you to use to validate the inclusion of a couple in the list, but detract a little from the concise look that T's list should have.

And maybe to be fair to those still waiting to be released, show them first in the display? Us legacy folks can scroll down some to re-live the good times we had with our friends in Portsmouth, NH!!

Whatever you choose, I am sure it will be well-received!! And thanks again for all the time you donate to our VJ community!

Think positive: the clearances appear to be going a bit faster recently - we've had a number of approvals well under the average wait period.
