Then you've come to the right place...welcome

Thank you. So is this AP generally believed to be for background checks? You would think they would do that before approving the petition

Oh well... If there is anything this journey has taught me its patience.

That is the rumour..hard to say really though as they tell us so little. The only thing I found out of interest was at the interview. Ther person I spoke to at the Auckland Consulate said...' I see you were stuck at NVC in random checks." Random...wow 7 weeks plus on someone's random whim.

Patience is good, and as soon as I find a way I'll bottle it and make a fortune

Drove me round the twist ..I mean NVC can't deny...so why hold up the process?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

No, still nothing from the embassy. I'm getting worried that something's fouled up again. We were cleared from NVC more than 2 weeks ago. As of today March 30, we still didn't get a Packet 3 from the embassy. My fiancee has emailed the embassy, and I'm thinking maybe I need to call NVC again to reconfirm that they in fact sent out our case. It feels like we're destined to hit a snag at EVERY stage of this process

I have been micromanaging the paperwork ever since we got bogged down at NVC. I e-mailed the consulate 2 days after I thought DHL delivered it to confirm receipt then e-mailed them again after Hien dropped off the forms from packet 3 at the info window to confirm they had them. After all the waiting, I do not want to find that the case was just overlooked for 2 weeks!! You might consider e-mailing them yourself since you are the USC and it is our embassy. Might get more attention?? Don't know. I am really hoping you get something soon!!

I realize I'm probably making this project much bigger than it needs to be, but I am having fun with it, so what the heck, right?

Ron, you are doing a great service to future stuck VJ'ers! And if you are having fun, all the better. I'm sure that when your fiancee arrives, the updating of the code will stop...

I was going to say the same thing. I would suggest that you email them.

Yazied just got the packet 3/4 from Amman last week. and we got out on 2/26. So dont worry too much.

Also, they gave me the interview date when I emailed.

good luck, i hope you guys dont hit any more snags

also agreed that your work on this project is a HUGE service to current and future vj'ers who get stuck at nvc..keep it up and have your fun

Todd, Lisa - thanks for the support. Every country works differently. In Thailand, they will not schedule an interview until we have physically received the Packet 3 and sent it back again with the I-134, DS-230 etc. They have a whole checklist procedure to be complied with. So it's unlike your case in Jordan (Lisa) where they'll assign an interview date in advance of sending/receiving Packet3. It may be similar to Vietnam (Todd), only we can't even bring in the Packet 3 in person, they insist on our mailing it back. So until we get the packet3 from them, we're kind of stuck. I'm hoping we get it any day now. I am gonna try to call NVC tonight to reconfirm that they sent it DHL on Mar 13, and based on that response, I'll email the embassy to demand what is holding it up.

So how do I get added to the list that apparenmtly uscandual maintains (similar to Igor's list)? Apparently, there is no place in the VJ timeline to add it yourself? Thanks.

mmmm.... u will show up on the list in 3 more days.

The reason is that your timeline shows your "NVC Received" as 2009-03-23. Since today is March 30 (at least, where the webserver is located), that is only 7 days. The script only tabulates timelines that are "stuck" at least 10 days.

So unfortunately, you need to be patient not only with NVC but also with the script. If you prefer I can set the threshold for something like show all "stuck" records >5days. But then we'll get a lot more entries of people who really aren't stuck. 10 was my compromise for this situation.

Of course! No offense intended. You're most certainly not forgotten.

My remark was just in regards to the cases that seemed like they were imminently going to be approved. You guys are at 42 days, so I guess you're getting pretty close now!! Hopefully it comes through for you quickly!

We're stuck at NVC too...not even a case number...........(sigh)....... early approval from USCIS don't make any sense...we have to go through the same time average of upto a year or so........
