Hey you guys!! I was able to get a hold of an agent without calling the paid Call center service here at our US embassy manila. She said that they got an electronic notice that they just got my case today however, they still dont have the case yet. I really dont get that. It may be something like just on their computer it shows that they got a notice and will still review it. I asked when do i need to call back like next week, and the line got disconnected.

I got the same answer from the consulate for about a week after it left NVC. "we have the electronic file, but havent received the paper file yet".

I tracked it on dsl. I set it up so I was notified when the package was signed for. 2 days after it was signed for I emailed the consulate again and said "I believe the case was received on___ and signed for by _____, please advise....."

They wrote back and confirmed that they had received it and gave us an interview date.

:)

That's great :) When is your interview?

April 13th

:secret: a year and 2 days after filing the first petition with VSC...not that im counting or anything LOL

Good luck at your interview, Lisa! Here's to hoping that April 13 is your happy day, and that you are reunited with your husband quickly :)

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hi guys! I"m not so sure if i should really join this thread or not but i'm just getting so worried why the NVC hasnt changed the message yet. They got our I-864 and Ds230 last March 10. The I864 was already put in their system but my Ds230 has been under review. I just wonder why it is taking so long. I've checked other's timelines and it usually take like 3 to 7 days and case is complete if there are no other documents needed.. IS THIS A SIGN that our application is also going to be on AP? It's been 9 days and no nothin... :-( :-(..

09-10-2008 - Paid the I864 bill and IV bill

09-28-2008 - Received hard copy of the instruction packet agent

Nine days may or may not mean anything in terms of being stuck in AP. Your best bet is to call them and ask.

Good luck!

Mm.. I'm not really sure. You're an IR1/CR1 applicant. The process through NVC works quite differently for those cases than it does for K-1/K-3 visas. I thought that typical wait times in NVC for IR1/CR1 are often many weeks, even months. Perhaps others can give you more info. I think that this thread is mainly addressed to K visas. Having said that, you're more than welcome to stick around and join our little community. I hope you are able to get your visa as quickly as possible :)

I called NVC a few minutes after i posted here. I guess you're right. Our application is not under AP but the operator said that there's just a 'slight' delay. Not sure how long would that 'slight' delay takes but there's no other option but to wait. It just seems like we've been waiting forever!.. haha!.. thanks for the response. :-)
