Would be nice if NVC could just say we are selecting 15% of all K1/K3 cases at random for additional screening. Expect this process to take 6-8 weeks. Just setting expectations for people would help to reduce the anxiety a little...

wouldnt that be nice!

day 42 and counting. after over 8 months at VSC, may I add!

good luck everyone... i hope we get some new releases this week

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Well, maybe as a result of your having to wait for AP at NVC, you might (??) be spared any such burdens at the consulate.

From what I understand, additional AP at consulate is very common for MENA countries - I hear on the VJ threads that it happens routinely in Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, so I am guessing it happens in Jordan too.

Hopefully since you're undergoing AP now, they'll give you guys a pass at consulate.

I have no idea if there is any basis to this hope, but at least it's something positive to think about after your 8 month wait at VSC and now the AP wait at NVC

Good luck all for speedy approvals!

thanks! We're hoping the very same thing...it seems the fast approvals are the ones that get thrown into AP after the interview. but on certain days this waiting still makes me pretty bitter

I did some research on it and k visas seem "safer" at our consulate, along with our long wait and AP..maybe we'll be spared!

It would. There's nothing worse than the worry, and it adds a lot of unnecessary stress to a process that is already stressful enough.

I was totally floored at interview when the person I spoke with said that I had been 53 days at NVC...'you were in random checks'...and desperate to read the stack of paper she was reading through at the time. Random. When I think of the worry, the stress, the sleepless nights...and all for nothing.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Good heavens...we have fallen off the first page!

Can't be having that, in case, sad to say, new people come looking for help.

Looks like we're all slowly getting out... but I agree, we need to keep the thread on the first page. Sooner or later, there will be more people looking for help.

And, well, I've had a good time here, too. ;)

We were approved on December 18, 2008. Got NVC first letter on Jan 5, 2008. After 10 days called NVC. Told you are in AP. Called again, still on AP.

Tired of calling again and again. Could some one tell whether NVC would send another letter whenever we are out of AP or that the docs have been sent to to the consulate or do we need to call them to get this info.
