Tell me I'm dreaming...called NVC today and was told we were still in "Administrative processing" but this process goes "really quickly" and I should call back at this time next week. Approved petition received at NVC on 4/29. My little woman just hit the roof. She explained to me that the VJ Wiki says the average time in AP is 50 days. Someone please shoot me.

AP...

1. Additional Processing

2. Administrative Processing

It's my understanding that all recieved petitions go through #1:Additional Processing, which means it is being bundled scanned etc. in order to be sent to Embassy. After speaking to a CS Supervisor tonight, she confirmed this is the term for "we are getting it ready to send out to a con/emb." "It should be sent in about a week."

According to another post, which I can't find now, #2:Administrative processing means they are reviewing the application/petition for some other reason. It is not being readied for sending to a con/emb. This is the "Oh #######" one.

Can anyone confirm this?

I don't believe that to be true only because some people get told they are in additional administrative processing, so they have mentioned both the A words in the same sentrence so how would one understand that?

The CSR's @ NVC use the terms interchangeably.. they don't really know what is going on just that it is taking longer than normal... in a nutshell it means that they are doing something that has slowed down the case and it could be a background check or any number of other reasons... the good thing is that it usually takes a month or less...
