Expect 30 days or so... it cant be rushed.. My congressional rep inquired and was told it was an FBI check and there was nothing that could be done until the FBI was done. If you call ask them when should I call back... and if they say call back on Friday or any specific day for that matter.. expect that the case is back from FBI and about to be sent out to the consulate... dont let them frustrate you.. they are only allowed to say what is on that script and nothing more... they can get in trouble if the go off of the script...

Thanks. I actually read almost this whole thread (yes ..193 pages) and realized that I knew more about what's happening than the operators at NVC. Based on all the VJ'rs that went through AP...30 days does seem the norm. On the brighter side, the operators are all very nice and happy. Course they're not going through this process. And when I think about it, I'm just hitting 60 days this week since I filed my I-129F petition....and we do have an MNL case number which means we can get the medical done and just be waiting for NVC and Manila to get us an appointment...and set us free from AP jail...I think they schedule your appointment quicker if you already had the medical..

Called the 202-663-1225 which is DOS ... I have read somewhere here on VJ that you could get some info from these folks. Talked to a very nice young lady ( Allison ) who told me that NVC had NOT received my petition yet. First definite " anything " I have heard in 2 weeks !

Now ... for the 110th time ... I am re-reading my NOA2. Notice Date: March4,2010

.....quote " The above petition has been approved. We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center .. yada yada address ... The USCIS has completed all action; furhter inquiries should be directed to the NVC "

Is there something I am missing here ????? I know it was a quick approval ( 34 days ) but Hell ... do they just sit on it now until it gets close to a " normal " timeframe ??? AAAARRRRHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!

Sorry to all .... just had to vent a bit !

So today I called NVC and spoke to a very nice lady with a wonderful sense of humor. I was joking with her a bit because I was expecting the same ol' song and dance and began reading her line... "you're still in AP...and we have no timeline...and call back in another week".... She said... No ...you're wrong ....I said what??? She said.. You're case as of today was sent to the embassy in Manila!! I said... NO WAY... she said WAY!! So...her next response to me...(since she remembered me from calling over the past few weeks) was "Now you can call USEM in Manila and bug the hell of them like you did with us......she said... you need their number???" I told her she was funny...but I said I already have the USEM number.... and I told her I might call her back again Monday just to see if this was not a dream call....

Yeah...I think they just misplaced your file...which is a bit unsettling since those files have tons of private info.. Feel free to vent away... That's how we survive this madness! You'll probably call them one day and they'll just out of the blue...say...ohhh you're file shipped to the embassy today!!! And they'll of course have NO reason why it sat there for a few weeks.... :bonk:

A couple weeks is alot better than a few months.. I have seen others files get lost between USCIS and NVC for months and in 1 case a couple had to go through USCIS and get a second NOA2...

Thanks.. I suspect some time next month or May... It was really our own fault as there was a problem with 1 of the documents that they did not explain the issue initially and when we resubmitted wrong again then the guy explained why it was wrong... that was our last chance to get approved without having to go through another AP... we submitted the correct document a couple of days latter to hear.. thanks, go home and we will send you a letter...

Hi all..not been in for a while, and I was hoping to see no one stuck in the black hole that is NVC.

Doesn't seem much has changed there, no info, misleading info..still no time frames...meh.

We were stuck there In November 2008 for 53 days. I did go ahead and have the medical early.

We files a FIOS request 10 months ago to try and determine why the hold up..and we are still waiting.

Try and keep your chin up..the eventually do let you out :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
