I am not clear about some of what has been posted - I have called and called and all the NVC supervisors tell me is we are undergoing additional processing and I can call as often as I want.

If I am reading this correctly, it's all about HOW I call that determines if we stay in AP? Have I misunderstood?

If your in AP, well your in AP. But after a while, you "well I did" I got hints of how much longer, and when that supervisor told me to call HER back and speak only to her, I knew I would be out of AP and I was.

Truly happy!!!

Yes you did ..:) , but you MAY get some additional information only from sups and only if your case is, let's average around, at the end of the 5 working days in AP.

If you look closer many of us got the clues ONLY in that timeframe of 5 days. So let's say your case is above that 5 days they most likely give you that generic answer, otherwise you'll be pushed to call back on the day that they mention, also that day will be your day out from AP. Few people confirm this already.

My thoughts tonight....first I sincerely hope nobody here currently in AP has to wait 40 days like I did. When I called NVC today and asked "am I finally out of AP", and the lady said "you certainly are and your file is on it's way to the Embassy right now" I was so overcome with emotion that I really dont remember what I said to her, but I remember she started laughing. And I could tell she was tickled and happy for my happiness. They are just workers there and have nothing to do with our being there or getting us out, so please people be nice when you call.

I have to say I have enjoyed posting in this forum MORE than the K1 month forum for when I was waiting for NOA2 approval...it really is kinda like a family...bonded by despair, frustration and misery. To those still in AP ...you really will get there...it just SUX waiting to get there. Mav

Good luck to everyone - and to all the people who come here after us - I think most of the people that were stuck in AP and are out will remain here on this forum for long time as is still much to go though - these are just small baby steps in this process :D

But if you find yourself stuck in AP - and want to talk or cry or whatever - just send message - you r never alone

I suspect they may have a response from the background check being returned for that file and that may be what they see noted in the system. Once they get the checks completed its likely just a matter of having a standard process to get the case signed off on by someone and processed which all likely takes 5 days or less.

There is a time factor. You can call 20 times a day and talk to the highest supervisor but it's probably not going to get you out of AP until your file reaches the top of the stack. The thing about calling is, that's the ONLY way to know when you get out of AP. NVC won't notify you. And even the supervisors won't tell you why your case is in AP or how long it will be held, until it's near the top of the stack. Then they might tell you something. If your case is in AP just because of random selection, then you should get out in about 30 days (based on recent activity). If there is another reason you are in AP, such as missing documents or missing answers or you have drug dealers in your immediate family, well, who knows? All the cases here during my stay just seemed to be in AP due to random selection, not any particular reason.

Good luck ! Try to be patient, but do call them often. I cried a lot of tears, both sadness and frustration, while in AP. (L)

Wow haven't been here for a while, but great news Maverick! Oh yeah pop the champagne to take away the NVCPAIN!

Crazymazy is a girl? Haha im reading too fast, i thought you are Crazyman, which would have been appropriate for this painful thread. :crying:

I got a letter from my Congressman saying NVC told him they sent our petition to Manila on 9/22. I knew that already but it's good to read it again. So i tell my fiancee about it and say "You have to vote for the guy now, cause he paid attention". Don't know 100% if he did rattle some cages, but i can say that when i get legislative inquiries where i work we do pay more attention to the matter.
