We are stuck at NVC.....now what??

If you just got to this stage with your k1 visa, i would recommend you to read this topic all the way from beginning to get some clues and ideas. (that's what i did)

It's good advice. When we started this thread the end of last year hardly any K1's were ever in AP. We didn't know what the heck was going on, and they would not say what was going on, so we were a pretty stressed out little group. We didn't know at that stage if we were looking at denial down the track.

Anything we found out, or stumbled over, or ever managed to get out of the phone drones at NVC..well it's posted in this thread. I know it's a lot of reading..but I still think it's a useful resource.

Looking at the today's economy, i would say that they lost some workforce in the NVC. Of course that's classified information..

Boghy - you are so correct - you have to "listen" to what they are trying to tell you when they call - try not to be upset - and DO ask for a supervisor

We get all emotional and upset and depressed when we call so I think we are like calling with closed mind and attitude.

If you take it like "ok is time to put on my happy face" and be positive with the "clones" (lol)

I never really had trouble with any of them when I asked for a supervisor - they always fulfilled this request - ( in one way or another )

I am beginning to think maybe alot of this AP is THE backlog at the embassies - and NVC is like a holding tank for this.

They can't tell you this outright ( although it would be sweet if they did ) because if they told you this - then it would make the government look bad

I know these things do not help this duration of being stuck in this black hole and is not the case for everyone here - I think some are legit extra security checks for what ever reasons - this is a link that is listed in the very 1st of this thread and IS SO GOOD TO READ

This explains all the checks and double checks the government preforms and at what stage of the process they are preformed.

I found it was amazing that the US government does not have a SOLID database of all this information - and is several databases they actually check.

But the backlog at the embassies and the more K-1's being filed yearly - would really explain why more are being put into this Blackhole overall and think is also why some are quick and some are not but with me being like waiting on the Romanian Embassy - is sort of easier to see this when you step back and look at the stats for this embassy :

In over the whole history of VJ here are the stats for this embassy:

16 of this number are from just this year ( does not really prove my point well lol as SOMEBODIES might not be filling out their timelines ) because I know from just talking to people on here - this past month - were like I know of 7 in in this month - and this is just from people on this forum (who has filled out a time line)

Because I was surprised by the following facts:

1- I thought I was 1st Romania put into AP - but were actually several

2 - I was told by DOS we had been cleared to go to embassy since Sept. 03, 2009

3 - Start of a New month - many are coming out of ap

Hi all! yesterday they told me on the phone I was being release that day, but I can't find any packages at all going out October 1 in DHL... Am I using the right tracking reference... EXP 01 OCT 2009A (also tried B and C) ??? I hope they haven't lied to me AGAIN . Sigh.

good idea boghy... btw, of course i didnt expect that moment but i called in the morning and was told it would definitely go out that day, so i expected that day. today is the next day, and still no package to Naples. others here who are told "today" always seem to see their package shipment very quickly. I just don't trust anything they say now. I think they get some pleasure in tormenting us.

or who knows? maybe they looked at the wrong document. all i can see is, there is no shipment through DHL for October 1, and those codes for DHL registration always worked before.

Yes, BUT you NEED to call them TODAY (Friday) so we can all know if those codes are all of them, or are more to that.

I've come to the conclusion nothing can be believed in this process. I've been lied to too many times. I would warn anyone here to NEVER believe anything they hear from NVC, even if it's in writing, even if they tell you "definitely". When (and if) your petition arrives at your consulate, that's when you can believe it has left NVC. I just hope if our petition ever really arrives at the consulate, the consulate will be more honest and reliable than NVC. Now all day at work, I'll just be fighting back tears because I was so hopeful yesterday, and today those hopes have vanished (again). Good luck to the rest of you, just don't believe anything from NVC ever.

I'll try boghy, but I'm almost afraid to call them. I work in an office and everyone hears everything I say on the phone. Yesterday I was so happy. Now I just feel stupid and ridiculous. If I can compose myself enough to deal with it, I'll try. Ciao.

NVC DOES somewhat they say, they do send it to embassy the day its out of AP but NOT DHL. They email it to embassy, then a few days later or a week, they send the hardcopy out DHL to the embassy. Paris embassy confirmed this to me, and the Department of State!!!

Thank you Paris Heart. I'll try to keep that hope then. But Mazy saw hers in DHL within one day, and I think some others here said the same thing. I don't know why this whole process has to be so convoluted and shrouded in mystery. If we were suspicious characters, then ok. I'm trying to keep hoping. I'm sure some day our petition will be approved and finished, because we are good, honest people, but this process is really like torture. Each time I think we are closer, it seems we move back to knowing nothing and just languishing in this maze of bureaucracy. Thank you and God bless you. Ciao.

I used the SEPT 30 code and is showed 1 package going to Jamaica on Oct. 1st.

Try that and all FOUR codes "correspondence" as well as the date with "A" "B" or "C"
