Good to read all your good news! Congratulations all round!

It does seem quieter on this thread, I was begining to wonder if they are still putting people in AP ...but if they are it's nice to see those times comes way down. :)

No need to wonder - the NVC is still putting people in AP. I received the NOA 2 on 6/19 (dated 6/17) When I called NVC they said they did not receive until 7/1. I realize that we were soooo lucky to have already received NOA 2 when so many others are still waiting (good luck to you all!). I see last week that two packages went out to the embassy and hoped that one of them were ours - however just called again and get the same answer from NVC "you're file is here under additional processing - that is all we can tell you" -

Awww...darnitall :( I was hoping they would have moved past doing this, just as suddenly as they started doing it.

Well...all the same, I'm glad you found our 'captive in the black hole' thread...take heart, it does end. And it seems times are coming way down from what they used to be

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I am beginner in this site...and i want to know about my visa status...we received and pay the AOS already,,,,,and we have NVC case number already.....how could i know about my visa case?...plsssssss help me...love you all...

If you received and paid the AOS fee bill, you probably arent stuck in AP (this thread is about being stuck for additional checks while at the NVC). You can call NVC and check the staus of your case at 1 603 334 0700. Use the case number they assigned when you get the notice from NVC.

Good Luck and you can read the guides for CR1(assuming its a CR1 since you paid AOS) here:

Stuck at NVC since June 25. When I called today, they admitted it was undergoing additional processing. I'm feeling really anxious imagining that it would take several more weeks, when I was expecting the process to go alot faster after NOA2.

Not at all!

I had been back and forth with the Auckland consulate, first I asked if my Canadian police check would be still good, as the delay at NVC made our time so much longer.

I sent them an email with a copy of the NOA2 attached, and on the basis of having my ACK number they went ahead and sent the packet out. I had the titre test to check what vaccinations I needed and I had the medical early as well. Seemed to me the thing to do was keep busy...there were only a few of us stuck at NVC on K1's at that stage, and I was going nuts trying to work out why. There was nothing on VJ much other than a very few who had that happen for a few weeks, like Kim and Russ for 3 weeks, but the end of last year they started with the AP on K1's in a big way.

We were therre 53 days, and by then all my ducks were lined up and quacking  I guess it depends on the consulate in the country you are going through, but I was very impressed with Auckland. All you can do is try

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Oh I know what you mean ..I was totally beside myself over this. Anxious ..oh yes! All I wanted to know was why?!?

On the up side, times for this are going down, so you may be out soon! ..and it does end!

Yeah I am joining the ranks of AP. I am hopeful that it won't be too long, but there is nothing I can do about it. From what I have read it is pretty quick for a K-1 visa. Is that a correct statement? What are the average times for AP?

It's getting faster than it once was. We were there 53 days. I've seen some just a few weeks lately.

Thanks, I am so grateful for your advice, and the information on this site. Although sometimes having this much information makes me crazy - i might not know what is normal and therefore not question. I am going to send an email to the embassy today and see what can happen!! We are totally prepared having gotten all the police certificates, investigated what would be enclosed in package 3, downloaded and filled out all forms, I am the petitioner so I have sent him all of the information required of me (aff of supp, taxes, etc.) so really all we need is a medical and the interview (hopefully). Sorry you were in AP for so long, but look at it this way - you are helping so many others by sharing your experience.

OMG guys! How long does it take an embassy to receive your file and enter it into the system? My file was released from NVC on 6-24-09. Per doing the DHL tracking I found it was received on 6-29-09. Per DOS when I call to check to see if the embassy has scheduled an interview date yet they tell me that the embassy has not received my file yet when I know it was received per DHL. In Lagos, effective 7-1-09, they were no longer taking walk in inquiries so my SO can’t go to the embassy to get his packet and interview date. He has downloaded the packet from the Lagos Consulates website, but he cant even start medical or anything else without the interview date. I have emailed the embassy 3 times and called them. No response on the emails and calling that embassy is just a waste of your money. You speak to some local man who puts you through to an automated system that just takes you right back to him again. DOS says it can take a few weeks to a few months for my SO to be contacted by the embassy to get his interview date. This whole thing is making me feel so hopeless. I don’t know what is going on now at this stage and no way of getting any other information. I thought things moved much faster after USCIS- it’s not for me…

Good grief! I can't think of anything you can try that you already haven't done already, but how about giving NVC a ring and ask them what their records show? They can confirm at least the date they sent it off, and as they sent a package to your consulate you would think they would have a record of it? Just a thought...

I'm sorry you are having to deal with this after being held up already (F)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
