I've read that, quite a few times. Nothing I can think of in either background, or in either of our quite ordinary history or names that would warrant the sort of treatment we're getting.

And even if they think they have found something, how the heck would we know? It's not as though they say..'you are in AP as a result of....'

We just are. 6 weeks today.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I didn't want him to call once I heard the AP thing...after them telling him that we were not in AP for over a week, when we had been the entire time. Got notices dated 3 and 5 days after they stuck in in AP saying it would be going out within a week as well.....Talk about seeing red...

He is like a dog with a bone...rings them every day. Still there as of 15 minutes ago, and we are over three weeks now.

WOW... this is crazy... thats the reason why I dont want to call, I'm afraid to hear that we are still in AP.... I told him him to give it till the end of December, if it's finished before then, then Merry Christmas to us, if not.... then I really dont know what Im gonna do.

We as well got 3 letters with different dates saying the same thing that they will forward it in a week.... Yeah Right!!!

I read on another site that this check at NVC is usually done on the beneficiary.....I thought mostly petitioner...who knows....

Ok, fellow USCIS approvals from December, it looks like MANy of us are stuck in NVC under review

I also got 3 letters dated one week apart, Dec 9-16th, all saying going to Kiev, but its still not in Kiev as of Xmas day when the Embassy closed until january 12th

Just for yucks, because i KNOW how this system has been working, i called 8-10 times to NVC to finally get thru and they said, NO, its still here, its under REVIEW. I could not hear so well, so I don't know if she said Review or Processing, but she DID say held up under Administrative ??? . I asked for how much longer and she said that i can call daily if i want, to which i joked....do you realize how hard it is to get a live operator here, so she said to me, OK, then call once a week!!! She wouldn't tell me any more than this!

So it looks like they have NO idea WHY its being held up, but it is, so sit again and wait. Maybe I will get lucky and they will finish this bullshit while Kiev is closed, so I don't lose too much time in the process waiting again??

Anyone else having this recently and know anymore than i do?

that's what happened to me.. and I was even before you guys too.. my app got transferred to the local office for an interview.. and I brought my parents and everything.. they say everything looks good (2 minute interview and asked my parents questions).. and then delayed for another 7 months (local office interview was Feb 2008, then I did the lawsuit, and finally got approved September 2008).. :crying: :crying: NVC better approve my case (case complete), otherwise I'm going to do another lawsuit.. and do one against the Guangzhou Consulate too.. almost two years without my wife (since the start of applying, not overall)..

As of this evening no good news.

SIGH... at times Im calm  , at times I just dont think about it  but most times I just want to break down..... :crying::crying:

Is it possible that they have a specific officer assigned to AP cases and holding on to all of ours...

I don't know...but you do wonder why. WHY?

I wonder how many of us there are?

cdneh,

I saw on another post you tried to call DOS...did you have any luck with that.... I wonder what other info they might be able to share that NVC wont...

I posted earlier, but just wanted to add that I called DOS and the woman was VERY nice, but told me, I can see your file and its at NVC, it has nothing to do with us, so whatever administrative review they are doing, its NVC. Plus she said its proabably another independant name check done by IN HOUSE FBI at the NVC, if that means anything?

If anyone else gets released from NVC in January, please comment on this post, so we can judge how long things are taking. Geez, Feels like we are back to USCIS BS again. Maybe we have to start timelines for NVC now??? Whts next, a 3 month delay at the consulate??? Good luck everyone, we are waiting with you,,,,,AGAIN!!!

Thanks.. and I wish everyone the best!! I don't see why they can't at least tell you why they are doing security checks.. Back when they transferred my case to the local office, their reason was for the security checks.. so I wrote a letter to the president (they forwarded to Dept of Justice, who forwarded to FBI).. FBI Records Management Chief Michael Cannon wrote back a letter stating I was not under security checks.. so I had reason to yell and shout at them after that.. try to find out the reason why you are under checks.. this is stupid and it hurts a lot of people who are waiting..

All I can say is "UNBELIEVEABLE", although I am glad to see that most people go thru NVC in a matter of days, I am also amazed to see how more often people are getting stuck there. It seems, most people claim to not have a reason for any additional checks, so what in the heck are they doing. You would think that with the worlds technology nowadays, they would have tools to make this process much quicker.

Let me just tell you, I know were all grinding our teeth over this process, but knowing I'm not the only makes it a bit easier to swallow. I do pray with the New Year comes New Blessing to Us All.... again as Ive said many times before, Hang in there.... I know we cant be stuck there FOREVER.... there has to be an end to this. :girlwerewolf2xn:

I just wanted to add, for those of you who are reading, that some of here are K-1 and some are K-3 and others and the checks are different for all. K-1's don't have the DS-230 and that is checked again at the NVC level from what I was reading, so different checks and times for different problems. Maybe??? Good luck??Any comments to this theory ?

I hadn't seen the screaming smiley face emoticon before sums up how I feel, really made me laugh :D

It is great to have company while we're stuck :goofy:

I agree seems the K3 and others generally spend longer at NVC than the K1 petitions, the majority of which zip through in a few days

According to the bunch of things some woman on the phone told me (more about it here.) it seems AP doesn't necessarily mean AP, but instead - it's a part of some normal, whatever procedure and also could just be some holiday-related delay.

She basically just said our petition was sitting there, waiting to be shipped.

Hello All.......

Thought I would join in......you guys have really helped calm some concerns......knowing that we are not alone......

I have received three letters......18, 19, and 23.....all saying the same exact thing....."we received your case...it will be shipped within a week"......but last time I checked it was still there.....same scenario as everyone else.......

So.....I just wanted to check in and we can all keep posting with our progress to encourage others......
