I will try again but they have refused to email so far.

well I am totally frustrated I still havent recieved the package over three weeks. Embassy claims they have sent it twice I am at a loss......

I asked if I could schedual and interview they said not until I recieve the package.

should I call the NVC?

Jon

email or call and ask them if they can email the packet to you...some consulates will do it. I woudl just explain that they have sent it twice and there is obviously some sort of problem and you would appreciate them emailing it to you ;)

Also, this is super obvious, but did you verify that they had the correct address?

Good luck!

That sucks, im sorry.

Maybe if you pester them enough they will get sick of it and email it to ya :P

What package are you waiting for?? The so-called packet 3 from the embassy? You should not need that to schedule your interview. I called the embassy to ask if we were ready to schedule our interview and then called the visa services call center, got the $18 pin and scheduled it. They said they would not be sending my fiancee the notice that she could now schedule her interview. They only sent her an email confirming her appointment date and time.

Whoops - I see now that you applied for K-3. For some reason I thought you were K-1 and Philippines.

Yes odd - almost a week with no new posts.

On another note ... So I was released on the 12th. Every time I called the NVC (about 15 times over 50 days) they confirmed my phone number and email address and assured me that they would contact me when my case was sent on.

Of course I have received no official notice. The NVC (and USCIS) work in mysterious ways ...

Congrats !! I see you got the interview already set up

My lady haven't gotten the embassy letter yet -_- (it'll be close to 3 weeks now) so I'll be emailing them tomorrow to make sure they haven't lost the paperwork or so =/

Don't wait for the letter - Call the embassy to see if youa are eligible to schedule your interview and if you are, phone the call center to schedule. I was able to schedule 2 weeks after the NVC sent my case on to Manila.

Yo yo ^^

I called them at the end of that week and she is good to go on the interview.

Right now, she finished her medical last week and her interview is on the 18th.

Hi everyone.. I believe everyone here knows alot about NVC..

we got our NOA2 yesterday (email...)got approve 49 days after noa1

my question is

will we recieve a EMAIL CONFIRMATION that NVC has recieved our case?

will the CASE STATUS ONLINE show NVC has recieved our case?

DO we need to pay anything to NVC? (if YES... what for?)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.. GOOD LUCK N GOD BLESS US ALL

Wow - Congrats on your very quick approval! No, you will not receive an email from the NVC. The petitioner will get a letter about 10 day to 2 weeks after your approval date. The letter wil show your case number and will state that within a week your case will be sent on to the foreign consulate which may or may not be true (which is why this thread exists - some cases are delayed up to about 50 days).

The case status online will not show that the NVC has received your case. That is only used by the USCIS and is often not even updated for approvals by them.

No there is no fee to the NVC.

After you get the letter from the NVC, you should call them at 603 334-0700 to ask if your case has been sent on to the foreign consulate. I hope they don't tell you that your case is having "additional processing".

Good Luck!

Okay, im joining this thread cuz our case seems to be stuck or might be stuck at NVC, I got my NOA2 June 1 and 2 days later i got a letter from NVC saying our case would be forwarded to the consulate within a week. needless to say i was happy and excited things were speeding up after all that waiting. but it seems i was premature in my joy- when i call NVC to ask about our case, im told some ####### about " additional processing" and no time limit on how long that takes. Then why send me that **$#%@&^^ing letter saying it would be done and gone within a week?! i need to know when it is done there cuz my girl is going to pick up her packets from the embassy instead of relying on the unreliable mail system there. Once i know NVC is done with it, i can let her know so she can contact the embassy there and get the packets. im trying to remain calm cuz i know its only been since i got the letter. I am thankful to have made it this far- i know some posters that are still waiting for their NOA2's and my prayers go out for them. Its just so frustrating to make it thru one obstacle [ getting the NOA2 ] to then have another waiting game obstacle jump in front of you. anyone know what the timeframe is on AP at NVC?

Welcome to the thread - sorry you have got stuck in AP.

Its very frustrating that they send you a letter and then don't send your file on. We have no idea why people get put in AP, we haven't managed to find a common factor and many of us don't fall into the common name category. Just be reassured that getting stuck at this point doesn't cause problems with the process further along.

Recently it seemed the NVC had speeded up a bit and cases were being cleared in 35-40 days, before that they were taking up to 52 days. You can get a better idea from looking at Thanita's list (the NVC version of Igor's list that Ron has done an amazing job on), it picks up people automatically from the timelines. Great news Slujon :)

longdistancelove,

Im so sorry you got stuck in AP at NVC. As Talyss said, you can look at the link and get an idea of how long it takes. The only conselation that you have is there is an estimated time to be released, its not like the service centers when you are waiting for an approval and have really no idea... look at 40-52 days

Good luck and I hope you guys are one of the lucky ones that get releaased quickly

We meet again Longdistancelover! I didnt get my NOA2 yet but I called NVC today to see if they got my case and was told they have it but Im in "additional processing"... WTH! It's never over... Why does this happen? I read its to do background checks, is this true? I havent commited any crimes or anything, what is up with this.. Anyone with experience please explain to me.. Im freakin right now? Does this cause problems at the interview if they see they put you in NVC?

Hi mstamiz2much - welcome to the thread, sorry you have got stuck in AP.

None of us who have been through this process have any real idea why they picked on us, it seems to be completely random. We also have no real idea what the extra checks involve, though a couple of us had questions at the interview about other people showing up as resident at the same address as the USC.

None of us here have experienced any problems at interview due to having extra checks at the NVC. Once you are released the rest of the process will go as quickly as your particular consulate allows for.

Having just completed a very speedy AoS, I can also say it doesn't seem to throw up any problems with the process after you get here and are married either.

Best of luck for a speedy release.

Sorry to see that you guys are in AP.

As Talyss says, it appears to be random. I had my interview today (and was approved) and at no point was the additional processing even brought up.

Hang in there. Between 30 - 50 days is the average time. I know after such a long wait, that this is scant comfort, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

We have all been there and out the other side. In the meantime, feel free to come here and have a moan.....it really does help when an injustice like this occurs.

Congrats to you...That is good to know it was not brought up.. I hope its just a random thing.. They were making think they were thinking I was a criminal or something. lol. At least Im finished with USCIS.. I do have another question as I just got my NOA2 in the mail today. It shows approved from 6-5-09 to 10-5-09. Being stuck here is taking time out of that, will that mess me up if this makes my NOA2 expire?

If the NOA2 expiry date is reached because of NVC or embassy processing they will automatically extend the expiry date. It only expires if you don't return packet 3 or contact the embassy for an extension once it gets to that stage.

well I called the Barbados embassy and I was told all july appt are full and I should call back july 13th and they will see if I can get an appt in AUG!!!. Why cant I just get my Aug appt now????

This is frustration beyond description, I have been married for 17 years I had a green card and was living in the states when we got married, both my parents are US citizens. I never thought it would be so difficult to get my visa.
