Hello VJers..

My husband (USC) and I got married in April 08, and filed CR1 sometime in May/June through a lawyer who handles immigration stuff for my husband's workplace. Our I130 got approved sometime in August after it being transferred from VSC to CSC, and for that we are very very thankful and blessed. It's at the NVC stage right now, but NVC is requesting another doc from me (is this whats called RFE?? still don't get the terms yet) which unfortunately will take me a few weeks to get hold of, and I guess since then I have been rather down. :crying:

I guess I'm feeling helpless not knowing exactly what's going on (since our lawyer has to be confronted before we can glean more involved answers from him rather than his standard generic ones), the wait, the being apart, the apprehension regarding starting a new life, as well as having to put on a brave face to my family who are obviously also worried that I'm still not with my husband.

My husband gave me VJ link a week ago or so, and since then I've been on all the time reading. I don't know if I'm now feeling 100% better, coz some of the things I read here made me cry even more (sad stories, as well as the possible challenges that is still ahead of us as we(well, me) adjust to a new country/culture/married life etc). But one thing I am certain of, it is a very nice feeling knowing that you guys are also going through the same process as we are, and that we are not alone, and that there's this support community albeit online that is available to us.

Thank you so much!

(L) Jaja

Welcome to VJ and good luck on your journey :)

Thanks so much Zee... (F)

I was working in the Philippines a couple of years ago, and NVC wanted additional police clearance doc from there.. Our lawyer said local police clearance is sufficient, so I got my colleagues and boss prepare letters and run to the local police etc for me and we had that prepared and sent. And now apparently on top of that they need another one called NBI! I had to go to the Phil embassy here three times just to get fingerprinted on a form (on the first day, there was drama there: an official had one of this guy asking for Phil visa removed frm the premise for calling him a liar, it was hmmm very daunting!nobody gave me any direction on what to do. :bonk: luckily, good mood was restored the next day and i got some assistance, altho had to come another time for that). Its so difficult coordinating that from here.. Still havent heard if the application package arrive in Phils or not, or if there will be any problem with that.. :( i guess we just have to wait and see...

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.
