Hi! After something went wrong with trying to get assistance to get a medical expedite and it was denied, my husband and I got into a heated argument today on messenger. I am not here to air out my dirty laundry about the details but we were both upset and I guess one thing lead to another and now I do not think I got room in my heart to forgive him for what he has said to me. Therefore, I am considering cancelling my applications. Does anyone know how to go about cancelling visa applications? It is an I-130 and an I-129 for K3.

Call USCIS first and ask:

Then write a letter requesting to withdraw the petition noting the petition number, and mail the letter to the service center handling the petition.

Yes, just think it over very clearly. You're both pissed off at each other right now and making an emotional decision. You can't take this back once you withdraw it.

Just make sure, you won't regret your decision later on.

We may say hurtful things when we're mad and regret it later. Cool off before taking the next step, think about it.

so sorry to hear this....it is always challenging maintaing a long distance relationship. I hope you guys evaluate all options before doing this, which I am sure you have.

Oh, heard your waiting game is over that is really good for you CJ Vasani as you had waited too long. It is not really the distance thing hurting us so much as his attitude here lately. I think he is getting mad because I am ill and he wants to be with me. Also, he fractured his foot last week and is angry I could not be there with him. It is beyond my control as I can not go there now as the conditions there are chaotic and riots are taking place there. I know it is not in my best interest to go there at this time. Also, to top it off he told everyone I am Obama's niece. Is that not going to cause problems for me when I get there?

Yes, I am not going to do it today. Though I am sure p****d off enough to pick up the phone and demand a cancellation. LOL Hmmm...I guess I will wait 30 days and contemplate. Heck, as slow as VSC is I may not need to cancel. Maybe I will just wait it out to see how long it was going to take just for the heck of it.

Also, that way he would probably feel really bad about what he said to me by then and perhaps apologize. It is going to take a big apology for what he said though. I am not sure if you all have ever heard your spouses say anything of this sort. It was disrespectful to both me and the USA as a whole and I am upset.

i really think you should reconsider what you are trying to do. it is a very stressful time for everyone and things get heated fast, this is the time when you two should just think of the good times you shared and what the future has instore for you guys......these thoughts will surely give you the strength to go through all of these trials. you are each others' source of strength so don't give up! at least not on each other! good luck! :innocent:

This is the correct procedure. Please note that you filed petitions, not applications.

You might want to consider waiting a while before doing this. There's no hurry and there's a chance you'll regret it.

Send 2 NOTARIZED letters with copies of both NOA1s. One for each different petition. Best probably in separate envelopes as they are different petitions..

I totally understand what you are going through right now and frustration but I agree with CJ Vasani.

First--- think everything through, it is REALLY HARD to be in long distance relationship and especially when you have to wait not knowing how long  . But I would suggest that talk with him again, think at least for a week or so and then make a desicion. It's always easier to just cancel everything and wash your hands off but then you might regret it.

Trust me, I've had this too with my fiance.... we went through the hard time too and I was SOOOO close in canceling our documents/petition.....so then I had sometime to think about it, I just didn't know exactly how to cancel it. In meantime I talked to my fiance and he REALLY started to improve so now I'm SOOOO happy that I didn't cancel anything cause then I would have regret it all my life. Since then I fall in love with him even MORE!!!!

So girl I would suggest first think it through and don't make fast decisions that you might regret later. Of course it is your life and your decision, only you can make that decision...... but i'm just giving you an advice, like you asked :)

to cancel your petition you just have to call USCIS and then submit letter to them.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

Mahitab, I know you and Samir love each other. I will have Syed call him. Syed said he hated all the Americans and the USA last year and I had my letters ready to cancel things but then we got approved a week later. Whew....I am relieved now that I forgave him. It did take him 3 apologies to regain my trust though. You know men, they always say sh%^ to piss us gals off in heated arguments. Please try your best to resolve this matter as educated adults which I know you are. Call me if you need to vent!

Sweetie, you had an argument. It's common! Don't get too bent out of shape. Just calm down and take a few days to chill. In the meantime, I'm sure he's there eating himself with regret too.

Arguing is very common, especially with the long distance. It's hard to keep a marriage together without physical contact! We all know and we've all been there!

Give him a few days to figure out how he's gonna apologize. Men don't always find appologies to be easy. Especially men from the region where our men come from, you know? So give him a few days and I'm sure he'll be appologizing, allbeit in his own way.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
