Timeline

Nobody can or will do anything until you are past the dates on the uscis website.

As far as giving out case numbers... it's very simple to put case numbers into the uscis online system which were sent the same day, or before, yours was sent in. Look for another K-1 fiance visa and if it was before yours was sent...simply give them that case number.

Here's how it breaks down...

Example - WAC 08 143 5 1234 (just using CSC as example.... Vermont is, of course, VSC)

WAC - California Service Center (formerly Western Adjudication Center)

08 - The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. (Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07)

143 - The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001

5 or 0 - Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files) ... K1's are put into database

1234 - A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001

this should be the number you change
