8 weeks to get packet 4 and another three weeks to interview?

And there you have it - nail on head. You're unfortunately in a shitty timeframe, Hannah.

yeh but i was thinking that if the average is a month for packet 4 and then three weeks thatsa total of 7 weeks, if you add two on top to account for xmas, thats only 9 weeks still and not the 11 that they quoted. :(

i cant imaginge its gunna take four weeks longer than normal cos they take a few days out at xmas. if this is the correct timeframe and not an exageration there must be some other factors behind it. :unsure:

Sarah received her packet 4 about 3.5 weeks after sending in packet 3. Her interview is for just over a month from packet 4 receipt. So I don't know if that's standard.

She had put on the packet three she intends to come to the US in February, so maybe that had some bearing on the date for the interview.

it wasn't that i wasnt ready, it was that i had an accident with my passport when getting my forms together, and i had to get it replaced, bfore i sent packet 3 bk.

Hi Hannah,

Spurs and I sent the packet back just a couple days after you did, and we found out today that we have an interview date in December. We had written on the forms that we wanted to get married in early January, so they did accommodate that. I had emailed the embassy--that's how we found out the date--so that might be a good option for you! Let them know that you want to fly over in February and ask if you can move the date up--it seems likely they'll adjust yours.

I am not sure why they got our interview in before christmas but these are the possibilities:

The Senators office got involved. OR

I sent an email on the reply of submitting the RFE requesting a possible timeline for the interview and told them I wanted to see him on New Years Day and needed to know if I should plan another trip over.

The notice of interview was the embassy's reply to the above question.

Don't give up hope!

Remember the DOS weren't even showing the embassy's receipt of our RFE and I got the email for his interview!

The reply for emails are taking roughly 2 weeks - and the silly person you talked to before gave you the 11 week senario - communication and file updating are NOT their forte - so don't pin to much on it!!!

But all you can do is try it!
