International Fabrics!

Well I found this site & I hope to order some material from them for our traditional wear (wedding). I have someone I know in the states who will make the outfits (all together) for $150.00 or less. I'm so excited, what a blessing!!! Now I juss hope the fabric is not all that much but it is DEF. worth it!!

OMG my fiance laughs at me when we go to the fabric market together because I could stay in there for DAAAAYS ON END. He has the patience of a saint. It's too bad you can't get your fabric directly from Nigeria, you'd pay a fraction of the price. I am always amazed at how cheap fabric and tailoring are over there. We had our wedding outfits made in Senegal, both of them with incredible intricate embroidery for under $100.

Thanks guys! I agree all of them are so nice. I think I have decided on the 2nd post last pic. But if I get it there in Naija would I be able to find that same fabric?.. I'm not sure. Plus I would not need very many yards. I don't know how long it takes them to make the outfits in Naija. I felt more comfortable having it made here as I can try it on and make sure it fits right etc. Plus since I'm paying it would be hard to arrange it from here. A girl who is helping me with ideas she is from Naija, but living in states. She gave me a list of all the places like in Lagos that she used but it would be hard trying to arrange that. She even said it was very hard with her being here and arranging her wedding in Naija.

Ok I called NY this weekend and the store (web site) that ships the fabric said for my 2nd post last pic (fabric I like for our outfits) it would cost $99.00 per piece=5yrds. She said it is a Swedish silk if I'm correct.

$ 99 for 5 yards is reasonable for that quality. There are some other fabric web sites floating around here, try and and do a search and check them out. I don't know where they are buried at. When I have more time I can try to find them.

Well my heart is set on the 2nd post last pic. When my mom made a surprise visit I had a chance to show it to her and she loved it as well. My concern was something that a man and a woman could wear. I talked to my SO this past weekend and I expln to him what it looked like. He said he trusts me and he knows my taste. I said but baby it has a blue flower. lol He said it does not matter. I know I will like it. So I felt better. I did not want anything that would look too feminine for him to wear. He was happy it was in his favorite color. Unless anything changes I am set on that one. I love the colors in that fabric and the half hearts design etc..

But I welcome any sites you do find as it does not hurt to look. Thnx!

I know.. My mom said I was drivin her crazy as I was going back and forth about should I get it (fabric from NY) or wait until I'm in Naija etc...
