How long to get new international pasport?

Hello everyone!

Well, I tried to call and ask russian embassy but they are not very good about dates, you know ;)

Just wanted to see an average of how long did it take you to renew your russian international pasport in US. Note, because my inside pasport has expired and international one will expire in a month they made me do this request to prove a russian citizenship for another $100 and said it will take from 1 to 3 month... Only after that I should submit the actual new pasport application....

Please shere your experience.

04/09/2008 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

05/03/2008 call to USCIS because NOA1 not received ;( Got the receipt number and was told that we cannot get replacement NOA1.

08/21/2008 request for NOA1 for I-130 to file AOS placed over the phone and forwarded to VSC. Thanks to the first great Rep at USCIS hotline

10/17/2008 Hubby`s B-day, NOA1 for I-130 finally arrives!

10/21/2008 AOS sent to Chicago lockbox

10/31/2008 NOAs for AOS received

11/06/2008 I-130 is transferred to CSC

11/20/2008 biometrics done

12/02/2008 I-130 APPROVED!!!

01/02/2009 EAD received

02/12/2009 Interview APPROVED!!!

02/17/2009 welcome letter received

02/23/2009 GC received!!! yay!!!

11/18/2010 I-751 Sent to VSC

11/22/2010 NOA1

01/07/2011 Early Bio

01/27/2011 Scheduled Bio

05/11/2011 RC approved

05/17/2011 GC received

Naturalization

11/14/2011 Sent package via Priority to Nebraska SC

11/25/2011 NOA made it

Relocated to NE

04/03/2012 Interview passed!!!

04/10/2012 Oath

04/10/2012 New prints required/done

04/14/2012 Received a welcome packet but still no certificate

04/17/2012 Certificate is here!!!!! Dated 04/16/2012 huh????

Took us 6 months last year for the international passport with the name change stamp.

If at first you don't succeed, then sky diving is not for you.

Someone stole my dictionary. Now I am at a loss for words.

If Apple made a car, would it have windows?

Ban shredded cheese. Make America Grate Again .

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.  Deport him and you never have to feed him again.

I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

I went bald but I kept my comb.  I just couldn't part with it.

Breaking news.  They're not making yardsticks any longer.

Hemorrhoids?  Shouldn't they be called Assteroids?

If life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.

If you suck at playing the trumpet, that may be why.

Dogs can't take MRI's but Cat scan.

It took us 1 month. Maybe because we actually registered with the consulate when we first got the green card and didn't have to show the internal passport anymore.

They didn't care about my wife's internal passport. I think a lot depends on which consulate you have to use.

It took about 3-4 months for my husband to get his new Russian international passport through the Russian consulate in San Francisco (no name change and no registration at consulate).

February 3, 2005. Applied for K-1.

July 14, 2005. Email to NVC congressional unit

Nov 2, 2005. Letter to congressman

Nov 8, 2005. Letter from congressman

December 19, 2005. Visa interview in Moscow. (250 days at NVC)

January 27, 2006. POE: JFK.

April 8, 2006. Wedding in USA.

April 19, 2006. Apply for AOS.

July 12, 2006. AOS Interview.

February 26, 2008. Letter to congresswoman.

March 19, 2008. Conditional Permanent residence began!!

2009: Wake up and get on the uscis train again - lifting conditions

Dec 21, 2009. Eligible to apply to remove conditions

February 2010: 10-yr Green Card Received

You can do it in USA at the nearest Russian consulate. (Washington DC, Houston, San Diego,... check their website for nearest location.)

You can do it in USA at the nearest Russian consulate. (Washington DC, Houston, San Diego,... check their website for nearest location.)

Well, 6 month later with multiple ohone calls and complaints to the embassy they still did not finish proving my Russian citizenship..... pasport takes 4 more month after thats done. I lost hope. I'm goin to Russia on expired pasport next month...

So if your passport is expired, wont you have any problems to come back to USA??

Should only take 3 months instead of 6 in country unless you go with expedited service.

Looks like my wife is on track to get her new international passport issued within one month in Novosibirsk. She says there's a new requirement that the passport authority, at least when working within the territory of Russia, has to issue the passport within one month. I'll check back in when she has it in hand.
