Hi -

I am beginning our AOS process. I've been to the uscis site & downloaded the AOS package as well as some other forms (I-765, etc.) My main question is regarding the medical exam - how do I find out where he should go to get it? How much will it be? Does he get it done before we mail everything in? I'm sorry - I haven't found the answer to this question...it's probably right here & I'm not seeing it.

Thanks -

Read the info on this page: http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-693.htm

Click on "civil surgeons locator" to find one near you. Call the ones in your area to see how much each charges as they each set their own price.

You should send in your medical with the rest of your AOS packet, so yes, get it done before you mail everything in.

ON EDIT: P.S. Since he came on K-1, I believe he may not need a full medical, just a supplement.

K-1's beneficiary is not required to take a full medical exam. All you guys need to do is find a civil surgeon and have him fill in a Suplement vaccination sheet. You can find the list with civil surgeons approved by USCIS on USCIS web site.

If your husband got a copy of the vaccination supplement from his medical in his country (DS-3025) take it to the local health department and they can copy the info onto the I693 Supplement (I think that's the right #) and give him any additional immunizations he needs.

Then when you go to the civil surgeon he just has to sign off on it. We got lucky and ours signed it for free, but I've read on here of people paying $30 or more to get the signature.

Hi -

Thanks everybody - I appreciate the help. He came here on a K-1, however, the lawyer neglected to point out that he should have retained a copy of his medical that was performed in his country (Cuba) - so he doesn't have it. So I'm going to investigate to see if he needs the full med again or what.

Thank you -
