I just got through visiting a website called "K1 Visa Journey". They charge like $485 to do the whole thing for you. They say they have a 100% acceptance rate. Anyone ever deal with them, or know anyone that has?

Thanks.

I don't know about the one you are talking about, but I hired k1k3visas.com Immigration Docs, and they seem to be okay, I mean no problems so far...they also gaurantee approval 100% or money back, not sure if that means approval at interview of approval of I-129F, and they charged $500.00 for the service, also continues to AOS and so forth once in the US at no additional charges.

(I do have to get the embassy changed and am stuck on that, but otherwise, no problems with Immigration Docs)

I just wanted to add..I would have rather done it myself than hired anyone. The process just requires you to invest time and do research, which you should be doing anyway even if you did hire someone.

So in conclusion: It's better to do the process yourself, lawyers/attorneys/any such parties do not make the process any faster or cause a quicker approval, if that is what you are concerned about.

Good luck! :)

I agree with Zee (hi zee! :) )... if your case has no special circumstances and you feel confident in your ability to read and learn then save your money.

nobody can guarantee you anything and for them to say so is wrong IMO. Also, keep in mind you will need to provide this 'company' with all relevant documents and forms anyway. ;)

Read the K1 Guides... simply go down the checklist and include what is asked of you. Use the example forms (link above) to help you fill out your paperwork. Use the search feature here on VJ to help answer any other questions... chances are they've been asked 1000 times! ;)

Because you'll be going through Manilla you will want to check out the PI Regional forums here on VJ. Look for the Sheriff's sticky post at the top that spells out the K-1 process and dealing with Manilla for you in detail.

I'm just worried that 1 little mistake on my part might slow the whole thing down, or cause me to be denied. I would be more comfortable with someone who has done in multiple times over handling all the paperwork. I read so many complaints about the process here that it seemed like a better way to go.

We all feel that way. However, keep in mind that a great majority of those 'mistakes' we see are made by these so-called 'experts'.

Of course, it's your decision to make but nobody is going to work for you as well as YOU.

Rockhouse will find that there is an enormous amount of paperwork ahead, and will need to study the regulations anyway. The I-129 is a very uncomplicated bit of federal paperwork. No one, not even an "insider" politician, can get the result any faster than the applicants themselves.

I agree.

And don't remember the member name, but there is someone here that hired a lawyer and the lawyer made 10+ mistakes on their I-129F that they had to correct after their file was sent to USCIS. They were the ones that ended up making the corrections and speaking to someone at USCIS about them, not the lawyer. They have gotten their NOA2, but I am sure it caused a lot of hassle for them.

Just offering another side of the picture in terms of hiring lawyers/people who have experience with the paperwork.

If this company is providing a service to you, more than likely thats there fee which is $485. But you have to keep in mind the USCIS has their own fee which $455 just to file your I-129F. These company should have revealed this info to you as well. Filing this Petition yourself is not a difficult process at all and theres a lot of helpful minds on this site to assist you along the way. This is your call of course and always beware of those telling you they have a 100% sucessful rate. Good Luck.

Forums... Regional...Phillipines... is where you'll find the Manilla Guide.

I couldn't agree more Dominion... even when hiring outside help, it's so important to educate yourself to the process if you truly want it to be as flawless and quick as possible.

You have found the best resource you could in Visa Journey.

I agree. Lawyers can also make mistakes though they claim expertise. We paid our lawyer $6,500.00 (exlusive of the fees to USCIS and NVC) and had I not asked my husband to send me the receipts, we would not find out that for three weeks, our lawyer just let our case sit in their office despite of receipt of payment. My husband had yet to make a lot of follow ups just to move their butts and do their work, geeze! Just do it yourself.
