I'm in the process of filling out the I125F and I wanted to know if it would be possible for my fiance to scan me his copies of the G325A with his signature or do they have to be the original? Thanks, Jenay

The signatures must be original. People have gotten RFEs if the adjudicating officers suspect the sig is a copy, therefore I'd recommend using blue ink so there is no question.

There is no easy answer for this.

It used to be that an RFE was issued when the original signature was missing but there was an interoffice memorandum issued to all Service Centers in 2005 explaining that an RFE is not to be sent when there is no original signature and the beneficiary is residing abroad.

However, not all adjuticators are created equally and not all follow the guidelines as set.

In simple terms, some people receive RFE's for this and some do not. If it were me, I would wait for the originals but perhaps sending the copies with a copy of the memorandum I posted above would work? Your choice.

Remember, there are 4 pages that should print out with each G-325.

The other option is he can fill out his portion and mail it to you. It takes longer then a fax but it maybe the only option for you.

This reminds me that I suggested my fiance that I could falsify (oooppps) his signature and he said aaaareee you crazy!! we almost had a fight over this!.

Then I said oh well you are right lets do everything the straight way!

Sign just as it is on the form and all official documents.

A signature is a signature (whatever you want it to be) and need not even be legible. My wife's signatures were all in Chinese characters and affixed with sticky labels she signed previously for that purpose. I'm pretty sure nobody at CSC could read her signature. Some people don't even have middle names.

The only time I ever signed my full name and made sure it was completely legible was when I signed as a witness on my daughter's marriage certificate.
