u guys moved fast. wanted to do the same, but had some bad luck. first of all, my husband was here during holidays, so we couldnt do anything before 5th, when he went back. while he was here a friend of his sent our ds-3032 and checked his mail to give us the IIN number. with that we paid the package 3 and package 4 fees. so when he got there, he only had to send the packages. but guess what? airline lost his bags where our original papers were. (he went back with my cat, so he couldnt take any other hand bag in the plane, but the cat's carrier). so he got there and couldnt do anything until he recieved the bags. which was last night at 3am. weird hour to deliver bags, but well...so today he sends the 3 and 4 packages, and we wait. what is depressing some is that all this made us not make the first 2 weeks of january dead line when they shedule interviews for next month.

but this isnt the only bothering thing. embassy here didnt send any package for K3 yet. and I see for others K3 moved faster. I wanted to call embassy and ask about it, but my mother said I received a package home, and I thought that's it, so I didnt call. she sent it to me, and turns out is just the Choise of Agent envelope. geeez. so guess Ill call monday to ask at embassy, because they r already closed now.

that's al my update. not much, moving slower than I hoped so. we had all papers ready before the NOA2, wanted to fly through NVC, but seems we had some bumps on the road.

I was reading the instructions on the USCIS webpage for I-864A and it says that "The signatures on the I-864A must be notarized by a notary public or signed before an immigration or consular officer." Have any of you notarized this form?

Yes....the I-864A has to be notarized, but not the I-864.

You only need an I-864A if you're using a joint sponsor.

By whom should the I-864A be notarized?

Hey all...

Last night I called NVC and spoke to an operator... just to get told that I have an RFE!!!! I am SOOOO FRUSTRATED!!! I cant believe it... The operator told me that it is requesting a Police Certificate frpm Venezuela for my wife. It CLEARLY states on the web site that it is NOT necesary to submit police certificates for Venezuela:

POLICE CERTIFICATES: A Colombian police certificate “Certificado Judicial” is required for all applicants over 18 years of age. It may be obtained at any DAS office. Police certificates are also required from applicants who have lived in another country for more than 12 months since turning 16 years of age (except for the United States, Mexico, and Venezuela). Please see http://travel.state.gov/visa/reciprocity/index.htm for more information about requesting police certificates for other countries.

I told them this and they said that they will have a supervisor reveiw it and that it can take 10 to 15 days... This is SOOO UNFAIR.... I loose 10 to 15 days because of a mistake THEY make?

Does anyone know how I can obtain a Venezuelian Police Certificate for her just in case?

I am about to collapse .... REALLY... I CANT TAKE THIS NOOO MORE!!!!!

When I call NVC the automated service it will send further instructions in the next few weeks ,how long normally is it until we receive the packet 3 ??? roughly ?????

Did you pay online or through snail mail? If it is was online, then you might not get packet 3, we didn't. If not, then give it at least 2 weeks.

Hang in there, it may happen when least expecting. Just forget about immigration for a few day and things might work itself out. We'll still be here, I'm also now stuck with getting paperwork from wifes side.

I had my wife email the DS 3032. Just to make sure I want to email them one more time. I know her password and user name, can I open the account and send the email myself from here in th US? I was concerned because I thought they would check the IP address the email generated. Thanks.

Yes, you can e-mail from your wifes account. There wont be any problem. I also recommend you to priority mail them copy of ds3032 that will be faster.

Let us know if you get an automatic response back from NVC right after you send them the DS-3032 email. Many of us have not received an automatic response back and NVC accepted the DS-3032 by email. I did not get a response back and they still have not accepted, but I will have to wait a little longer.

Let us know if you get an automatic response back from NVC right after you send them the DS-3032 email. Many of us have not received an automatic response back and NVC accepted the DS-3032 by email. I did not get a response back and they still have not accepted, but I will have to wait a little longer.

Sam, best is to email and mail the DS 3032. from most cases here, I observed mailing works way faster than emailing. u just have to use a fast mail option. good luck
