ok guys, my case number has been assigned by the NVC.

Desiman - call NVC and see if yours is assigned as well.

Hey cmnb, did you talk to someone or the AVR says they received it? I called just now and that stupid thing still says "No record". I'll call again to see if someone can tell me if they have it. I got it till midnight to bug them! Thanks for the update.

...and as expected, a nice lady, told me to allow some more time. So back to the week of January 4th.

thats weird... i hope your case gets there soon..why dont u call VSC and see if it has left their office.

i called and spoke to a very unpleasent guy. oh well, who cares if he was nice or not.

Up to 2 weeks to get into the NVC system is about normal. Beyond that...there's a problem.

If you're not in the system within 2 weeks of getting approved (maybe allow an extra week for the holidays) then your file may be lost somewhere.

NVC should be on your speed dial....if you're trying to get through as fast as possible...or if you have nothing better to do than constantly check on your case.

Either one is a good excuse to call....it's our tax dollars (and application fees) at work. :thumbs:

It is weird. I don't understand. I've already called VSC and they said they've sent it.

So given the holidays, I'd say if it's not in by 9th, I am raising hell with both offices with constant calls until they tell me they have my applications. Driving me nuts.

eYep, and you're fully justified to raise some hell. But remember, your case file only contains your petition...you'll be applying at NVC.

I-130 is a petition to apply for a visa. DS-230 is your visa application. May sound silly, but government employees are easily confused when you use the wrong terms.

LingLing - i was reading your NVC guide and noticed that there is no mention of sending in a photocopy of all the documents as well with the originals/certified. can you please include that also. just a suggestion!

Greetings cmnb, I'm not sure that I'm following you.

Why would you need to send in duplicates?

It is suggested that you keep 2 photocopies of the entire package, and that one is in the hands of the beneficiary.

Hey cmnb, I don't recall seeing that requirement before. I didn't send any photocopies. Maybe I'm getting old.

Anyway, I've added that important bit of information to the guide.

Thanks VERY much for bringing it to my attention.

Hey CJ...did you send in photocopies?

Hello all,

Just to let you all know... I submitted my I-864 and my DS-230 on Dec. 31 to NVC. I sent it priority mail. It arrived today, so hopefully on Monday they will receive it and at least by Tuesday they will review it... Lets see.

After I sent my I-864 package I noticed that on page 4, Question #25 of the I-864 it states to fill in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd most recent Tax Years and Total Incomes. I made a mistake and only filled out the 1st Tax Year and Total Income. (Even though I am ONLY sending the actual tax returns for 2007). I corrected this mistake by sending in a corrected I-864 with the 2nd and 3rd Tax Year and Total Income information filled out as well. I included a cover letter stating what I was sending and why. I sent this additional package to the Attn. of CMR, because I have not received an RFE as of yet... I hope that I will be able to prevent an RFE with this that I have done... I will let you guys know what happens this coming week.

I just wanted to share my mistake so that others can prevent this from happening to them.

I want to thank Ling Ling and everyone here for all your help... I was able to catch this mistake, thanks to lingche's stupid RFE thread.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;hl=stupid+RFE

I think everybody should take the time to read this thread before sending in their documents to NVC.

It would be a good idea to send some pictures, emails, or other proof such as internet chats or phone bills.

There doesn't appear to be a questionable age gap, and you two look really happy together.

Good luck. Hope your journey brings you together very soon.

Hi!

I am curious as to how other recent approvals are doing at NVC. I would love to hear whether you have been able to send in the Choice of Agent or pay the AOS fee bill.

Our I-130 and I-129F petitions were approved on September 20. The I-130 arrived at NVC on September 26 and the I-129F arrived in Italy on December 1. We are going to schedule the K-3 interview and hope that our info for the CR-1 catches up so that my husband can enter with a green card.

I would love to hear about what progress others are making at NVC!

I am a December approval, but I got a question for you. Are you pursuing both applications? If so, is it possible to wait for the I130 after I129f completed and a visa is in hand? I thought you choose only one that suits you and go for it. Thanks

sam

So, I got a letter from NVC dated 12/29/08 that they have received my I-129F and within a week they will forward to the embassy. Funny thing is the operator as well as AVR say they don't have it! Anyway, should this also mean that my I-130 is with NVC too? FYI: Both were approved the same day.

Thanks!

Wait I am a bit confused by that link, if I am reading it correctly it is asking for 2 copies of our certified marriage cert???

here it reads like this from that site.

Required Documents

Original documents, photocopies, and translations of the following documents must be submitted to the National Visa Center for the applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States.

* Birth Certificate

* Court and Prison Records

* Deportation Documentation

* Marriage Certificate

* Marriage Termination Documentation

* Military Records

* Petitioner Documents

* Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

* Police Certificate(s)

and under Petitioner documents it also reads..

Petitioner Documents

Applicants in the following visa categories are required to provide 1) an original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s birth certificate and 2) original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s marriage certificate from the Petitioner’s current and all previous marriages.

* Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old (IR-5)

* Brothers and sisters of United States citizens (F4)

so are they asking for 2 copies???

Thanks

Joe

is your question about submitting I-130? or submitting docs to NVC? i am confused. coz they dont ask for petitioner's information...the DS-230 application for an immigrant visa has to be filled out by the beneficiaries and requires document from the beneficiary.

Desiman - they should technically have your I-130 at the NVC also. unless they held it back and only sent your I-129F (the way they traditionally have been doing in the past). i would check with USCIS and NVC and have them give you the "location" of your case.

hey Joe, i read it again. the only people who have to provide petioner document are:

Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old (IR-5)

Brothers and sisters of United States citizens (F4)

so if you are petioning for your spouse then you dont have to provide petioner documents.
