Right, I often see large groups of atheists ranting and protesting about all sorts of issues.

That's a fine bit of acceptance for another's non-belief there BooYah. :whistle:

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Well if the majority of his constituents are religious why shouldn't this be there.

In 2000, The Association of Religion Data Archives reported[62] that of Kentucky's 4,041,769 residents:

* 33.68% were members of evangelical Protestant churches

o Southern Baptist Convention (979,994 members, 24.25%)

o Independent Christian Churches/Churches of Christ (106,638 members, 2.64%)

o Church of Christ (58,602 members, 1.45%)

* 10.05% were Roman Catholics

* 8.77% belonged to mainline Protestant churches

o United Methodist Church (208,720 members, 5.16%)

o Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) (67,611 members, 1.67%)

* 0.05% were members of orthodox churches

* 0.88% were affiliated with other theologies

* 46.57% were not affiliated with any church.

Kentucky is hardly an atheist state. All those stats show is that "46.57% that aren't affiliated with any (particular) church"

How can you do that if the government is being forced to take a position that advances a specific set of religious ideology?

That's not about being all-inclusive...

You must be referring to things like...

The concept that *mens freedom comes from God and not through reasoning of men* was and is quite profound.

That simple concept / reasoning is what should keep us free no matter how the reasoning of men might change.

If we truly had a Godless Government, ... think of the implications.

*as a side note, these words were penned by Jefferson who certainly believed in God but

was of no specific faith.

"In God we trust" is not a revolutionary idea, in fact it's more of a staple.

I don't know how it is down in the ghettos of New orleans but the South is quite religious. Ever heard of the bible belt.
