Ford Says CEO Will Work for $1 to Get Loans

I drove by a Ford plant outside of Toronto yesterday and the parking lot was nearly empty. It was pretty sobering.

I think the first thing they should do is redesign their logo. As it stands I look at it and think "junk". Pretty simplistic, but it's a start! Chrysler did it. When I see theirs now I think "Junk, but I like the logo"!

so did mr. miller of the delphi bankruptsy until the bankruptsy judge awarded him with his back wages. didnt feel it was right for him to only work for a buck a year.

u know these guys have so much money that they probably live off the interest they have. its nothing for them to take a dollar a year wage.

I was watching the Today and noticed how UAW workers remain amongst the highest paid manufacturing workers in the world. What also shocked me was to to see that under UAW contracts laid-off workers actually get paid 95% of their salary for doing nothing for up to two years, known as jobs bank. Where they sit in rooms for up to 8 hours a day play cards, doing crossword puzzles and even napping. In 2006 15,000 workers were being paid for not working.

I also enjoyed hearing how in some plants UAW contracts required three different skilled workers just to move a machine. What a bloody disgrace. Until the UAW disbands I will be buying non-UAW cars.

It depends on many factors - income, family size, etc., but never more than a monthly supply of food for a family of that specific size. If this CEO has one child and a spouse, that could be $100 a week. How much is a Rolex?

No need to feel bad for those guys. Even at a $1.00 salary, they're taking home more than almost everyone else. The Other Side of the $1 Salary No tears from me.
