WHERE IS MY GREEN CARD???

Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as my understanding goes----once you get your SSN, you can apply for Driving license and also State ID.

Once either of the two have been attained, you can open up your Bank account.

At least when my hubby took me to his bank to have my name with his account, that's what the lady told me, she said once I get my SSN, I can just show them my passport with Valid visa stampped on it, and they will put my name with his account, she also said if I can show her DL or State Id, that would work too.

Oh, how I wished that's the same here. Bank of America wanted my GC and so did the community college when all I wanted to attend was their advanced ESL to get accustomed to the different accents I hear from people here. I was also told that I could apply for my driver's license once I have my SSN and I am really looking forward to that, again, for a semblance of independence, hahaha!

Thank you for the information guys. We called the USCIS Customer Service and were informed that our green card will soon be delivered. The officer we talked to was very accommodating as to update our new address. For those who may want to make a follow up of their green card delivery, be ready with your registration number as stated in your visa. It is the number that they will require.

I do not want to dishearten you, me I am here from december 22 2007 and up to now I did not receive not even the letter of good arrivals and not even the green card, I already did two infopass, the third thing will be tomorrow a day 4, I already ordered certified letter and nothing happened. I already prepared all the documents of the process to try again. I am preoccupied because my driver licence and my ID will win day 19 of December of 2008, and after that, only for god!

anyway try of everything, and when it calls in the USCIS write down the number of the service, that and importantly.

good luck. Aucione

Oh, that's too long already. I hope you get yours soon. I will update VJ once I receive the GC. Good luck to both of us.
